RingConn has launched a new promotional campaign linking its Gen 3 smart ring with the “Lord of the Rings” film franchise, a partnership with Warner Bros. that will offer buyers exclusive, film-inspired rewards. The device, which was first introduced in May and is priced at $349 on Amazon, is at the center of a dedicated website now marketing the collaboration.
Details of the tie-in remain under wraps
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed exactly what those rewards will be. RingConn confirmed that the smart ring itself will not be modified in any way for the partnership: there is no edition inscribed with Mordor’s language that glows in fire, nor will the companion smartphone app receive any themed design updates to mark the collaboration. The Gen 3, the company noted, will continue to fall short of making its wearers invisible.
Key functional features highlighted
RingConn is positioning the Gen 3 to stand out from rival devices primarily on two fronts. The company advertises up to 14 days of battery life and enough on-board storage to retain ten days of health data locally without requiring a smartphone sync. Additionally, the ring includes a vibration motor that can alert the wearer to significant health readings or a nearly depleted battery, among other notifications.
Sensor suite and physical specifications
Consistent with the current smart ring category, the Gen 3 incorporates a heart rate sensor, a skin temperature sensor, and a three-axis accelerometer. This sensor array supports features such as sleep tracking, a step counter, and passive activity monitoring. The ring is housed in a titanium case and is waterproof, with a weight that ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 grams depending on the selected size. The “Lord of the Rings” partnership places the device in a growing wearable market where manufacturers frequently turn to cultural tie-ins to broaden consumer appeal, though the Gen 3’s core specifications remain unchanged.
