Realme’s product roadmap faces a major recalibration, with fresh indications suggesting the company will not launch new GT or Neo series handsets this year. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the brand has already discontinued its current smartphone lineup in China, and remaining inventory is expected to sell through by approximately November.
Realignment under the OPPO umbrella
The shift follows an official statement from Realme just days ago, confirming a pause on new smartphone introductions in China. Parent company OPPO has been steadily integrating Realme and OnePlus under a unified business and software framework, and this product hiatus appears to be a direct outcome of that broader restructuring effort.
The same source reports that Realme has no plans to bring the GT 9 or Neo 9 series to the Chinese market this year, while international markets are also unlikely to see new GT or Neo devices. Instead, Realme’s numbered series is poised to occupy that market segment across multiple regions.
Slimmer portfolio and software consolidation
The leak also points to a more compact global product lineup moving forward. Outside China, Realme is said to concentrate exclusively on smartphones and audio products for the time being, with no tablets or laptops currently in development. A gaming tablet, however, reportedly remains under consideration for a later date.
On the software side, Realme India confirmed earlier this month that future smartphones will ship with ColorOS 17 instead of Realme UI, a transition the company says will streamline development and accelerate update delivery. In parallel, OPPO has merged OnePlus and Realme into a single shared ecosystem, laying the groundwork for deeper software integration between the two brands down the line.
What current device owners can expect
Owners of existing handsets such as the Realme GT 7 Pro are not immediately affected by these changes. The company will continue to honor its current software commitment — three Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches — with those updates now delivered through ColorOS rather than Realme UI.
