Apple is preparing a concentrated hardware push for the first half of 2027, headlined by a redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro and a new generation of iPad Pro, alongside an unusually dense iPhone lineup for the spring season.
A Redesigned Entry-Level MacBook Pro
The next 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to arrive carrying the Apple M7 chip and will borrow its design language from the high-end MacBook Ultra. The visual refresh marks a significant shift for the more accessible Pro model, bringing it in line with Apple’s premium notebook aesthetic.
Next-Generation iPad Pro Targets Sustained Performance
The upcoming iPad Pro will retain the familiar 11-inch and 13-inch display sizes and the overall form factor of the current model, which starts at $1,199. Performance improvements sit at the core of this update, though it is not yet clear whether the tablet will be powered by the Apple M6 or the newer M7 silicon. Apple is considering a vapor-chamber cooling system to maintain higher performance under sustained workloads, but the company has reportedly not made a final decision on integrating this thermal solution.
An Unusually Packed Spring for iPhones
Apple is reshuffling its smartphone calendar, which will result in more iPhone models launching in the spring of 2027 than in any previous year. The company is said to be delaying the standard iPhone 18 until early next year in order to prioritize the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the new iPhone Ultra in the usual September window. This realignment means the budget-oriented iPhone 18e and the successor to the iPhone Air will join the standard iPhone 18 during the same spring period.
Rumors point to at least three notable upgrades for the next iPhone Air: the Apple A20 Pro ARM chip, an added ultra-wide-angle camera, and extended battery life. It remains uncertain whether longer endurance will be achieved entirely through more efficient components or by fitting a physically larger battery into the slim chassis.
