Mangmi has disclosed the complete hardware specifications for its forthcoming vertical handheld gaming devices, the Air Y and Air Y Pro. While the company provided detailed technical breakdowns, it continues to withhold official pricing and a formal launch date for both models.

Entry-Level Model: Air Y

The standard Air Y features a single thumbstick and a 4.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 × 960. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor drives the device, paired exclusively with 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB of internal eMMC storage. Storage expansion is available via a dedicated TF card slot.

Additional components include an active cooling fan, a single speaker, Bluetooth 5.0, and WiFi 5 connectivity. Wired connections are handled by a USB-C port, and control inputs consist of a customizable key, a volume wheel, and a six-axis gyroscope. The handheld is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 15W wired charging and ships with the Android 14 operating system.

Upgraded Model: Air Y Pro

The Air Y Pro retains several core features of its sibling, including the same 4.2-inch 1280 × 960 IPS panel, 5,000mAh battery capacity, and active cooling solution. However, it steps up to a significantly more capable Snapdragon 865 processor. Two memory and storage configurations will be offered: a base variant with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage, and a higher-tier variant with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of faster UFS 3.1 storage.

The Pro model is distinguished by twin thumbsticks and introduces several enhancements, including dual stereo speakers, an audio jack, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1. It retains the TF card slot, six-axis gyroscope, customizable button, and volume wheel. Wired charging receives a modest upgrade to 18W. The device is slightly heavier at 279 grams but shares the Air Y’s physical footprint, measuring 144.84 × 94.64 × 23 mm. The Air Y Pro ships with Android 13 rather than the newer version found on the standard model.

Market Outlook

With the full specifications now public, industry observers anticipate that Mangmi will announce availability and regional pricing details in the near future. The Air Y’s focus on affordability and the Air Y Pro’s balance of a proven flagship processor with expanded storage options position them as distinct entries in the growing vertical handheld market.
