GMKtec has officially launched the EVO-X3, a new performance-oriented mini PC that had been the subject of extended teasers. The system is now available for purchase, debuting exclusively with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. This is the same Strix Halo APU found in the company’s earlier EVO-X2 model.
Configurations and Pricing
Two hardware configurations are offered at launch. The entry-level model includes 128 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD, priced at $3,600. Notably, this represents a 100% increase over the launch price of the identically equipped EVO-X2. A higher-tier variant, equipped with a 4 TB SSD, is listed at $3,849. Subscribers to the company’s mailing list can receive a $20 discount on these prices.
Design and Connectivity Upgrades
While both mini PCs share the same core APU, the EVO-X3 is not a simple iteration. The chassis has been redesigned and now roughly matches the dimensions of a PlayStation 4. A significant functional upgrade is the addition of an OCuLink port, which had been absent from the EVO-X2 and broadens the device’s compatibility with external expansion hardware. The existing USB4 port has been retained and continues to support 100 W Power Delivery.
Further internal specifications include two M.2 slots, each capable of accommodating up to 8 TB of storage for a total maximum capacity of 16 TB. GMKtec states that the cooling solution utilizes three quiet fans to manage thermals, allowing the system to operate in a high-performance mode that draws up to 140 W.
Additional Highlights and Future Plans
Connectivity options include WiFi 7, and the device arrives with the Claw operating system pre-installed within its slim enclosure. Looking ahead, GMKtec plans to expand the EVO-X3 lineup in late 2026 with a configuration featuring the upcoming Ryzen AI Max+ 495 processor.
