Zepp Health has begun deploying software version 6.1.0.206.1 for the Amazfit Balance 3, a 19.57 MB update that delivers a suite of functional refinements to the premium GPS smartwatch. The Balance 3, which recently became available through major retailers including Amazon, occupies a high-end position in the company’s lineup. It builds on its predecessor with a larger display and an integrated flashlight.

Enhanced Map and Route Management

Navigation capabilities receive notable attention in this release. The system for downloading maps has been upgraded to allow users to pause active downloads, making it possible to reserve bandwidth for more urgent tasks. Downloads can be initiated even when the battery is low, provided the watch is charging—a practical feature for loading routes after a long day outside.

The device now supports storing up to 100 routes locally. While its built-in 64 GB of storage could technically hold many more, the cap is designed to keep on-device browsing and selection fast and manageable. Routes created directly on the watch face can now be saved and accessed later.

New Training Metrics and Recovery Data

Real-time performance monitoring is broadened with the addition of HybridCharge as a dedicated workout data field. This works alongside existing functionality that issues an alert when the metric falls below a user-defined threshold during activity. Trail and road runners gain a new equivalent pace metric for the last lap, which converts the effort of navigating hilly sections into a comparable flat-ground pace. Its precision is strengthened by improved elevation tracking, yielding more reliable ascent figures and refined pace calculations.

The update also extends health data integration: heart rate variability (HRV) measurements can now be synchronized with Apple Health, providing a streamlined way to track recovery status and overall physiological readiness.
