Are ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15 Mimicking Apple’s iOS?

Oppo and OnePlus are preparing to reveal the ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15 in the near future. These latest versions of their Android custom skins are anticipated to introduce a range of new features and enhancements. Recently, a leak provided an initial glimpse of both the OxygenOS 15 and ColorOS 15, sparking curiosity about similarities to iPhones.

ColorOS 15 & OxygenOS 15: Echoes of Apple?

According to a recent report from SmartPrix, early beta testers in China have shared the first images of the ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15. Analyzing these visuals, we can observe sleek new animations, blurred effects, a revamped control panel, and a fresh Always on Display transition. There’s even a feature similar to Dynamic Island. If you haven’t noticed yet, these elements appear to draw direct inspiration from Apple's iOS.

The Dynamic Island feature was first launched with the iPhone 14 Pro series and is making its way into the upcoming Oppo and OnePlus custom interfaces. It seems you can store up to four apps in this section, which is likely to be positioned near the punch hole cutout on the device's display. We can also see it functioning with various tasks such as tracking order status, playing music, and more. Additionally, the advanced blur effect found in the notification shade and control panel also resembles features seen in iOS.

New Features Abound

Despite the apparent similarities, ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15 boast many unique features and functionalities. The animations are being redesigned, allowing users to switch seamlessly between apps, creating a smoother overall experience. Finally, the AOD Lock Screen Transition will offer a new animation when transitioning from the Always On Display screen to the Lock Screen. ColorOS 15 is scheduled to be launched on 21st October 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.
