AMD has announced a short delay in the release of its eagerly awaited Ryzen 9000 series processors. This decision follows the discovery of an unspecified quality issue during final product checks.
The Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X set for August 8th Release
In their statement, AMD stresses its commitment to delivering a premium experience for all Ryzen users. To ensure this, the company is taking a careful approach, collaborating with channel partners to replace the initially produced processors with units that meet their stringent quality standards. As a result, the new launch timeline is staggered. The Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors will now be released on August 8th, while the higher-end Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X will become available on August 15th.
Enhanced Screening Measures
Although AMD has not revealed the specifics of the quality issue, they have reassured consumers that extra screening processes will be put in place for future Ryzen 9000 CPUs. This delay appears to be primarily focused on ensuring quality control.
