Alienware Pro Headset Launches: Noise-Cancelling, E-Sports Design

Alienware, the renowned gaming division of Dell, has introduced a new addition to its growing range of gaming accessories - the Alienware Pro headset, featuring Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This headset is specifically designed for e-sports enthusiasts, aiming to provide exceptional sound quality and comfort for extended gaming sessions, thanks to its soft memory foam ear cushions and lightweight build, weighing only 315 grams.

Collaboration with Professionals

According to Alienware, the Pro headset is the result of collaboration with over 100 professional e-sports players, including both athletes and streamers. It features 50mm graphene-coated drivers, which are becoming increasingly common in gaming headsets, offering accurate directional audio. The headset includes both feedback and feedforward types of active noise cancellation. For those who prefer not to use ANC, Alienware also provides effective passive noise cancellation and a transparency mode.

Impressive Features

The Alienware Pro headset is equipped with dual microphones for audio input and incorporates a deep learning-enabled noise cancellation feature that filters out non-verbal sounds. Battery performance is notable, providing up to 75 hours of usage in Bluetooth mode with ANC disabled, and up to 35 hours in low-latency 2.4 GHz mode with ANC enabled, extending to 70 hours with ANC turned off. Additionally, the headset supports high-resolution audio playback via USB-C and offers a customizable equalizer that can be adjusted through the Alienware Command Center.

Anticipated Release

On paper, the Alienware Pro headset appears to be an excellent product with minimal drawbacks. However, its actual performance will need to be assessed through independent reviews. The headset is set to launch in North America this October, retailing for $229.99.
