HMD Global, the company behind Nokia branded devices, is set to expand its Android phone portfolio with its own branded smartphones. While details about the upcoming devices have been scarce, a recent sighting has revealed a key camera specification.
According to reports, two HMD Global smartphones were listed on the IMEI database in November 2023, with an expected launch date in April 2024. Earlier this month, a leaked render provided a glimpse of what the upcoming HMD phone might look like. However, the latest report from Finnish publication Suomimobiili showcased product renders that were spotted on the brand's official website.
Unfortunately, the link shared in the report now leads to a 404 Error, suggesting that the image has been taken down. Nevertheless, the shared image revealed the rear camera module design, which aligns with previous reports. One notable detail in the image is the etching that indicates a 108MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support.
The HMD smartphone shown in the render is in a Cyan color option. However, specific details about the device's specifications and pricing remain unclear. It is known, however, that the device will feature a dual camera setup on the back. Additionally, well-known tipster Evan Blass recently shared a series of codenames for upcoming HMD-branded devices, including Pulse, Legend, Pulse+, Legend Plus, Pulse Pro, and Legend Pro.
As of now, this is all the information available about HMD Global's upcoming smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
