Xiaomi’s Chairman Lei Jun has responded to netizen requests by introducing a hearing aid for the elderly. Earlier in May, after Lei Jun shared a video on TikTok, many users suggested new industries for the tech giant to explore. Among the suggestions, some users specifically asked Xiaomi to create an affordable hearing aid. Consequently, a crowdfunding campaign for the Xiaomi hearing aid for the elderly has been initiated. This new Zdeer hearing aid is manufactured by Zdeer Industrial Company but is available on Xiaomi Youpin.
Zdeer Brand and Its Focus
The Zdeer brand specializes in family health products. The company claims to offer solutions that address significant health needs for the youth, emphasizing health preservation. The latest model is a 34-channel neck-hanging hearing aid tailored for the elderly and comes with a blood pressure monitor. Additionally, it includes blood glucose tracking features and is already garnering interest on Xiaomi Youpin. Over 50 individuals have pledged, pushing the total pledged amount beyond 500,000 yuan ($68,904).
Features and Pricing
Details about the features and functionality of the new hearing aid are sparse at the moment. The Zdeer hearing aid is available on Xiaomi Youpin at a crowdfunding price of 999 yuan ($138). It is expected to be shipped to supporters before June 30. Currently, there is no information on whether this hearing aid will be available in international markets in the future.
