Xiaomi Unveils Smart Maoyan 2 Doorbell Camera with HDR

Xiaomi has introduced its latest smart doorbell camera, the Xiaomi Smart Maoyan 2. It will be available on e-commerce platforms like JD.com starting May 22nd, priced at 599 yuan (around $83 USD). The Maoyan 2 comes loaded with features aimed at boosting home security.

High-Definition Camera and Night Vision

This new doorbell is equipped with a 3-megapixel high-definition camera that provides a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and supports HDR. This ensures that you get clear and detailed images, even in low-light conditions. The 180-degree wide-angle lens helps to minimize blind spots, giving you a comprehensive view of your entryway. Additionally, the Maoyan 2 features 8 940nm infrared night vision lights and a high-sensitivity sensor, ensuring clear night vision without the red glow that is common in many night vision cameras.

Long-Lasting Battery and Motion Detection

The built-in 8000mAh battery of the Maoyan 2 offers impressive longevity, providing up to 300 days of use in long-life mode and 150 days in real-time viewing mode. The doorbell also comes with dual PIR human body infrared sensors that cover a wide 180-degree horizontal range. These sensors automatically trigger recording when motion is detected, and you can adjust the detection sensitivity across three levels to fit your specific needs.

Smart Connectivity and Voice Control

The Xiaomi Smart Maoyan 2 extends its functionality beyond just being a doorbell. It connects to the Xiaomi Mijia app, allowing you to make video calls with visitors and use voice-changing functions to disguise your voice. It supports quick replies for common deliveries and lets you record custom voice messages. Furthermore, the doorbell can cast events to connected Xiaomi speakers and TVs, enabling you to see visitors on larger screens in real-time. Voice control is also supported through Xiao Ai, allowing you to perform functions like turning on the camera or checking the battery level using voice commands.
