Xiaomi has introduced a new wireless mesh system on its global website, hinting at its forthcoming worldwide release. The Xiaomi Mesh System AC1200 promises efficient Wi-Fi coverage over an area of up to 370 square meters. This new device also features Gigabit LAN ports and follows the recent launch of the AC1200 router. It boasts a minimalist and adaptable design, ensuring comprehensive home coverage with an easy network setup process.
Imminent Global Launch
Recently listed on Xiaomi’s global website, the Xiaomi Mesh System AC1200 is expected to be available globally soon. It is anticipated to enter the European market, where Xiaomi already offers various mesh systems like the Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000.
Coverage and Specifications
The Xiaomi Mesh System AC1200 can be configured with one to three routers based on the required coverage area. A single router can cover up to 140 square meters, while two routers can extend this to 260 square meters. All three routers combined provide an effective coverage area of 370 square meters, as stated by Xiaomi. The mesh system utilizes the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands and supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) connectivity, with a transmission rate reaching up to 1,200Mbps.
Connectivity and Pricing
This new wireless mesh system by Xiaomi includes two WAN/LAN ports, each offering wired connection speeds up to 1,000Mbps. While the complete release details, including the pricing of the Xiaomi Mesh System AC1200, are not yet disclosed, it is expected to be priced more competitively than the Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000, which starts at 50 Euros ($54).
