Xiaomi has recently unveiled the design of its upcoming compact flagship smartphone. At first glance, the Xiaomi 15 appears quite similar to the existing Xiaomi 14, which is currently priced at $779.99 on Amazon. However, the real changes are in the finer details that set the Xiaomi 15 apart from its predecessor.
Design Changes
One notable update is the matte finish on the Xiaomi 15's frame, a departure from the glossy look seen in previous flagship models. The new device also features a slight curve in its frame, which was absent in the Xiaomi 14. In a further design tweak, Xiaomi has relocated the LED flash outside the camera module, even though the size of the flash remains unchanged.
Features and Specifications
It seems Xiaomi has taken some inspiration from Apple's iPhone 16 series in its design choices. The Xiaomi 15 boasts significantly thinner bezels, measuring just 1.38 mm on all sides, according to the company. Additionally, it comes equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and three rear-facing cameras, which distinguishes it from the iPhone 16.
Camera Details
Interestingly, the telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 15 appears to be shorter compared to the previous model. While Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm this, markings on the camera housing indicate focal lengths ranging from 14 mm to 60 mm, as opposed to the 14 mm to 75 mm range found on the Xiaomi 14. Since Xiaomi plans to officially launch the Xiaomi 15 on October 29, we expect to see more teasers and information released in the lead-up to the event.
