Q4 is always a hot time for Chinese flagship phones, and this year is no different. Vivo has already kicked things off with its new flagship range, Oppo is about to reveal the Find X8 series next week, and the Xiaomi 15 series is also coming soon.
Anticipation for the Xiaomi 15
The Xiaomi 15 series is likely to be announced right after Qualcomm reveals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip on October 21. However, there's not much info out yet about the upcoming Xiaomi flagships, especially the standard version.
Rumored Specifications of Xiaomi 15
Thanks to tipster Yogesh Brar, we now know some rumored specs for the Xiaomi 15. The device is said too feature a 6.36″ 1.5K flat AMOLED display, which is the same size and resolution as the Xiaomi 14. Although he didn’t provide details about brightness, earlier rumors indicated that the Xiaomi 15 series might showcase the TCL Huaxing C9 display panel, which could offer higher brightness and more accurate colors. So, it seems likely that the Xiaomi 15 series will shine brighter than its predecessor.
To put this into perspective, the Xiaomi 14 can reach 1000 nits in bright sunlight and peaks at 3000 nits when showing HDR content.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, it’s said that the phone will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite) processor along with a 5,500mAh battery. While this battery is smaller compared to competitors like the Oppo Find X8 or the vivo X200 Pro Mini, it’s a significant upgrade from its predecessor's 4610mAh. It might also support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Camera Capabilities
Regarding the cameras, the Xiaomi 15 is rumored to come with a triple 50MP setup on the back, including a main OV50H sensor and a 3.2X telephoto lens. This is a change from the Light Fusion 900 (50MP) sensor featured in the previous model. The OV50H is known for its excellent low-light and autofocus capabilities, supported by dual conversion gain (DCG™) tech with a 1.2-micron pixel in a 1/1.3-inch optical format.
New Operating System
The Xiaomi 15 series is also expected to introduce Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0, which is based on Android 15.
