Xiaomi has just recently unveiled the Redmi Note 14 series in China. The lineup includes the Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro, and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus, but these models aren’t available outside of China yet. Despite this, insiders are starting to speculate about Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphones. This buzz has intensified since a Vice President of Xiaomi was spotted using the Xiaomi 15 Pro in public.
Anticipated Features of the Xiaomi 15
Yogesh Brar has shared what we might expect from the Xiaomi 15 as it gears up for its official launch later this month. As expected, there are rumors of various upgrades aimed at setting the Xiaomi 15 apart from its predecessor and competing with Vivo's new X200 Pro Mini. However, it’s also believed that the Xiaomi 15 will carry over some components from the Xiaomi 14 (currently priced at $829.99 on Amazon).
Display and Battery Improvements
Brar predicts that the Xiaomi 15 will feature a 6.36-inch flat AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1220p and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, similar to the Xiaomi 14. Additionally, the device is set to maintain its IP68 water and dust resistance rating, along with supporting 50 W wireless charging and 90 W wired charging. On the battery front, the Xiaomi 15 is expected to sport a larger 5,500 mAh battery, an upgrade from the 4,610 mAh battery present in the Xiaomi 14.
Camera and Performance Upgrades
Moreover, the Xiaomi 15 is likely to showcase three 50 MP rear cameras equipped with Leica optics. Unfortunately, it appears that only the primary camera sensor will receive an upgrade, while the telephoto and ultra-wide-angle sensors may remain unchanged. The Xiaomi 15 is also anticipated to be among the first smartphones to launch with Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, rumored to be branded as the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
