Just a few days after debuting its flagship Xiaomi 15 series smartphones, the company has posted the official prices for replacement parts on its website.
Pricing for Xiaomi 15 Series
Released on October 29th, the Xiaomi 15 series starts at 4,499 yuan ($635 USD). These smartphones feature a stunning micro-curved LTPO OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a silicon carbon battery that supports both wired and wireless charging.
Repair Costs Breakdown
The company has also shared the costs for repairs of different components, like cameras, displays, batteries, and motherboards, allowing users to understand the potential expenses if an accident occurs.
There are some notable differences in repair costs between the standard Xiaomi 15 and the Pro model. For instance, replacing the telephoto lens on the 15 Pro is priced at 430 yuan ($60 USD), while the standard model only costs 150 yuan ($21 USD). Similarly, the main camera replacement for the Pro is set at 345 yuan ($48 USD), compared to 335 yuan ($47 USD) for the Xiaomi 15.
Display and Battery Repairs
When it comes to display repairs, there’s again a price variation between the two models. Replacing a regular display on either phone will come to 670 yuan ($94 USD), or 730 yuan ($103 USD) for the Bright Silver Edition. However, the special “Diamond Limited Edition” display has a higher price of 920 yuan ($129 USD).
Battery replacements are consistent across both models, costing 119 yuan ($17 USD). Yet, the price for the battery cover differs based on the model and the selected version. The standard cover replacement is 220 yuan ($31 USD) for the Pro model and 290 yuan ($41 USD) for the bright silver edition. The “Diamond Limited Edition” cover is the costliest at 360 yuan ($51 USD).
Motherboard Replacement Costs
One of the most significant cost differences is seen with motherboard replacements. The motherboard for the Xiaomi 15, with 12GB+256GB of storage, costs 2640 yuan ($372 USD), while the same component for the Pro model is priced at 2820 yuan ($397 USD). This price gap continues for the larger storage options, with the 16GB+1TB motherboard for the Pro model costing an incredible 3370 yuan ($477 USD).
