Camera Technology Unveiled
It is now confirmed that the X200 Ultra will utilize Sony’s LYT-818 sensor for both its main and ultra-wide-angle cameras. This CMOS sensor delivers a native resolution of 50 MP with a 1/1.28-inch optical format, featuring 1.22 μm pixels and a dynamic range of up to 86 dB in HDR. As mentioned earlier, Vivo has integrated the LYT-818 to create 35 mm primary and 14 mm ultra-wide-angle cameras, both equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS).
Enhanced Features on the X200 Ultra
Additionally, the 85 mm telephoto camera in the X200 Ultra is said to be 38% more sensitive to light compared to the version in last year’s X100 Ultra. Vivo also claims that this telephoto camera benefits from enhanced OIS. Despite these upgrades, it’s anticipated that the X200 Ultra will still utilize the same ISOCELL HP9 sensor found in the X100 Ultra, X200 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Competing with Top Smartphones
Vivo has emphasized that the X200 Ultra aims to compete with high-end models like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S25 Ultra (currently priced at $1,099.99 on Amazon) with an array of camera features. Notably, the X200 Ultra includes a zoomable LED flash array and two specialized imaging chips. Furthermore, it will support a Photography Kit accessory that adds a Zeiss-tuned 8.7x zoom lens. For context, the X200 Ultra will debut alongside not only the X200s smartphone but also the Pad5 Pro tablet and Watch 5 smartwatch, among other gadgets.
