Vivo has announced the V40 Pro, available via Amazon in regions like India, which it calls the "Zeiss Portrait Master," priced at INR 46,990 (~$556) as of today, November 17, 2024. This device features a total of four 50MP cameras, including the triple rear lenses and the front-facing selfie camera.
Upcoming Improvements
According to the reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, the new model will be similar to the V40 Pro. It will sport the same Sony IMX921 main rear camera, but the telephoto lens is expected to upgrade to a 3X zoom periscope lens using the IMX882 sensor, akin to what is found in the Realme 13 Pro.
Features to Expect
The "V50 Pro," which may be referred to as the S20 Pro in the Chinese market, is also rumored to keep the ultrawide-angle camera from its predecessor. Additionally, it is anticipated to come with a 6.67-inch 1.5K display, moving away from the uneven curves seen in the S19/V40 series. This new screen will be powered by the older yet robust Dimensity 9300+ chipset.
Battery and Competition
On another note, the expected smartphone is likely to maintain a 5,500mAh battery. This specification might allow the S series to remain as sleek as Vivo desires, but it could also place its latest flagship at a disadvantage against rivals that offer superior battery capacities as a marketing edge.
