TP-Link Launches Affordable Robot Vacuums with 5,300 Pa Suction

TP-Link has launched two new budget-friendly robot vacuums as part of its Tapo series: the Tapo RV30 Max Plus and the Tapo RV20 Max Plus. Let’s dive into the details of the Tapo RV30 Max Plus first.

Features of Tapo RV30 Max Plus

The RV30 Max Plus boasts a powerful 5,300 Pa suction ability and can mop and vacuum at the same time. It uses a LiDAR navigation system for precise home mapping, along with an anti-collision system to dodge obstacles while it cleans. Additionally, this model is equipped with TP-Link's proprietary DeepVac technology and Tapo IQ+ smart cleaning functions that enhance suction for difficult stains. There's a suction boost option that can be activated when cleaning carpets.

This device packs a 2,600 mAh battery, allowing it to operate for as long as 120 minutes on one charge. It features an AutoEmpty dock that automatically clears out dirt and dust once cleaning is complete. The RV30 Max Plus offers two cleaning modes: vacuum only and vacuum plus mop. Users can select from three water levels for mopping and five different suction power settings.

Additional Capabilities

Moreover, the robot is compatible with the Tapo companion app, which opens up various functionalities such as zone cleaning, real-time tracking, scheduled cleaning, virtual boundaries, no-go zones, and mapping for multiple floors.

The RV20 Max Plus serves as a budget alternative to the RV30 Max Plus. It shares the same 5,300 Pa suction power as its more expensive counterpart. Other features include Mesh Grid technology, a carpet suction boost, smart obstacle avoidance, self-cleaning paths, and TP-Link's DeepVac technology. Both vacuums can be controlled via voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, or through the Tapo app.

Pricing and Availability

TP-Link also offers standard versions of the Tapo RV30 Max and RV20 Max, alongside a model with a self-emptying dock. The main distinction between the standard and Max Plus versions is that the standard comes with a basic charging dock and is priced lower than the Plus version. The Max Plus variant includes a self-emptying dock, which of course, makes it more expensive than the standard model.

As for pricing, you can find the TP-Link RV30 Max Plus and RV30 Max robot vacuums available in the United States for $299.99 and $219.99, respectively. The RV20 Max Plus and RV20 Max are set to be released on December 2nd, priced at $250 and $200.
