The TCL 2025 Thunderbird 100 Max LED TV has been introduced in China. This 100-inch model continues from its 2024 predecessor, maintaining the same 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 px) and a native refresh rate of 144Hz, along with 240Hz MEMC motion smoothing technology.
Updated Specifications
The backlight on the 2025 Thunderbird 100 Max contains 512 sections, which is a bit lower than the 2024 version that had 540. However, the peak brightness remains at 1,200 nits, featuring a dynamic contrast ratio of 12,000,000:1. It also boasts 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, plus support for Dolby Vision IQ and IMAX Enhanced. Operating on Android 11.0, this model includes a GameBar feature aimed at elevating the gaming experience. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6, allowing users to share content from their mobile devices or laptops wirelessly via Miracast.
Connectivity Options
For physical connections, users can utilize various ports such as HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0, and USB-A. The TV is equipped with built-in 2.1 channel speakers that deliver a 60W output, an upgrade from the 55W speakers found in the 2024 model. Similar to its predecessor, the audio system works with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies. The TCL 2025 Thunderbird 100 Max smart LED TV is priced at CNY 8,999 (about $1,263) and is currently available in China. It remains uncertain if or when it will be released in other regions like the US, where TCL markets models such as the 2023 98-Inch Class S5 4K LED Smart TV with Google TV, which currently retails for $1,799.99 on Amazon.
