New MicroLED Smart TVs have been surfacing consistently for several years now. However, with some models costing more than $100,000, they have not yet become common in the market. Hisense is attempting to make a difference with its new 136MX MicroLED TV, which boasts a diagonal size of 136 inches, aimed at broader audiences. Still, the absence of price details suggests that it might fall into the high-end price range.
A Step Towards Affordability
The 136MX is anticipated to be a significant step towards making MicroLED Smart TVs more accessible. The screen features an impressive 24.88 million tiny LEDs, each capable of being dimmed independently, much like OLED pixels. These LEDs are designed to allow the 136MX to achieve outstanding brightness levels of up to 10,000 nits, alongside a very high resolution. The deep blacks it can produce contribute to a remarkably high contrast ratio. Unlike OLED technology, MicroLED is less prone to burn-in, which means it has a much longer lifespan. This model also supports a frame rate of 120 Hz.
An Affordable Alternative
In addition, Hisense has introduced the 116-inch TriChroma LED TV as a more budget-friendly option. This television utilizes mini LED backlighting and features a new "RGB Local Dimming Technology" that adjusts the color of the mini LEDs based on the content, resulting in more vibrant colors. Hisense claims that this model covers 97% of the BT.2020 color space and reduces unwanted blue light by 38%. It also achieves a brightness of 10,000 nits and supports Dolby Vision IQ and IMAX Enhanced, augmented by a 6.2.2 sound system. Pricing and availability for this television are yet to be revealed.
