ViewSonic Launches 520Hz Gaming Monitor for Ultimate Speed

    Key Takeaways

    – The lower resolution may result in less sharp images compared to QHD monitors, which are available at reasonable prices.
    – The monitor has a 1ms gray-to-gray response time, covers 99% of the sRGB color spectrum, and has a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.
    – It includes an adjustable stand, a USB hub with two Type-A ports, and two built-in 2-watt speakers, but lacks a KVM switch.
    – Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort, with support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium.

ViewSonic has previously hinted at the XG2737, but now it has officially introduced its new gaming monitor. This display comes with an incredibly fast refresh rate of 520 Hz, however, the 27-inch screen only supports Full-HD resolution.

    Resolution Limitations

This resolution means the images might not appear very sharp, which could make this monitor less adaptable than a QHD model. QHD monitors with better resolution and decent refresh rates are readily found on Amazon, with various brands offering them at reasonable prices.

    Features and Specifications

Nevertheless, the ViewSonic XG2737 boasts an IPS panel that has a gray-to-gray response time of just 1 millisecond. The monitor supports native 6-bit + FRC color and covers 99% of the sRGB color spectrum. ViewSonic also claims a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, along with a typical brightness of 400 nits.

The extra features of this new display are sufficient but not particularly standout. For instance, the XG2737 includes a USB hub with two Type-A ports, but it lacks a KVM switch, which may disappoint some gamers. Additionally, it has two built-in 2-watt speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack for alternative audio output.

    Adjustable Stand and Connectivity

The gaming monitor includes a stand that can be adjusted for height, tilt, and rotation. Users can also utilize third-party stands due to its VESA (100 x 100mm) compatibility. Furthermore, it is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort, while supporting AMD’s FreeSync Premium to align FPS with the monitor’s refresh rate. At the moment, the ViewSonic XG2737 is not yet available for sale.
