Casio has introduced a new WS1400H watch in the United States, named the WS1400H-8BV. Also recognized as the WS-1400H-8BV, this model came out soon after two other watches in the same series, which were released at the beginning of December: the WS1400H-2AV and the WS1400H-8AV.
Design and Features
The WS1400H-8BV features a dark gray resin case and band, along with a dark LCD display that has light numbers and an amber LED backlight. The display seems to be the main difference between this new model and the two that launched last month, which have a light background with dark numbers. It offers functionalities like dual time zone support, a stopwatch accurate to 1/100th of a second, a countdown timer, and three alarms. Its calendar is fully automated until the year 2099, and the watch claims to be accurate within 20 seconds each month. Additionally, it is water resistant up to 10 meters (~33 feet) and can last up to 10 years on a single CR2025 battery.
Availability and Pricing
You can purchase the Casio WS1400H-8BV from the brand’s online shop for $29.95. The watch is also available on the brand’s Singapore website, although it’s not currently for sale there. It’s uncertain whether or when these newer WS-1400H models will be available in other regions like Europe, where Casio already offers models such as the WS-1400H-1AV, which is priced at €45 on Amazon Germany.
