    TCL Sees 122% YoY Surge in Mini-LED TV Shipments in H1 2024

    TCL has unveiled its mid-year market performance report, showcasing robust shipment figures across the board. Notably, mini-LED and QLED TVs have seen remarkable growth, with year-on-year increases of over 100% and 64%, respectively. According to the latest report, TCL’s shipments have risen by 10% year-on-year for the first half of 2024, amounting to 12.52 million TVs shipped globally during this period.

    The impressive shipment statistics underscore TCL’s position as a leading global brand with a positive future outlook. Compared to the first half of 2023, shipments grew by approximately 9.2%. The second quarter of 2024 was particularly strong, contributing to 53.4% of the total shipments for the first half of the year. This marked a 12.9% improvement over Q2 2023 figures. Additionally, TCL noted a steady increase in the average size of its shipped TVs, reaching 51.7 inches in the first half of 2024.

    Significant Growth in Larger TV Models

    TCL reported a 14.5% year-on-year increase in shipments of TVs sized 65 inches or more and a 34.5% rise for TVs 75 inches or larger. The company also highlighted substantial growth in global shipments of its mini-LED and QLED TVs, which surged by 122.4% and 64.4% year-on-year, respectively, in H1 2024.

    Positive Outlook for the Second Half of the Year

    The outlook for TCL remains promising as the company aims to build on its strong performance in the first half of the year. TCL projects significant improvements compared to the previous year, signaling continued growth and market presence.

    Overall branded TV shipments in China dipped 10.2% year-on-year in April, reaching 2.47 million units. This decline extends a year-to-date trend, with cumulative shipments down 3.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

    However, TCL defied the trend with an impressive 8% year-on-year growth in April shipments, reaching around 540,000 units. This surge makes TCL the brand with the highest growth for the month, solidifying its position at the top of the Chinese TV market.

    TCL Surpasses Expectations

    While established players like Hisense, Skyworth, and Haier saw shipment declines, TCL’s success can be attributed to several factors. The company may be benefiting from a focus on specific market segments or strategic pricing that resonates with consumers. Additionally, TCL’s efforts in brand recognition and marketing could be driving increased sales.

    Xiaomi, another major player, also showed positive signs. Including its Redmi sub-brand, Xiaomi shipped approximately 450,000 units in April, capturing an 18.2% market share. This represents a 1.8% increase compared to March 2024. Xiaomi’s growth indicates continued consumer interest in its often-competitive TV offerings.

    Meanwhile, Huawei’s strategic shift towards premium, large-screen TVs seems to be paying off. Despite lower shipment volume compared to TCL and Xiaomi, Huawei’s April numbers show a continued year-on-year increase and improved profitability.     The Chinese TV market slowdown can be attributed to various factors, including economic uncertainties or a potential saturation in the replacement cycle for existing TVs.     The S55H soundbar boasts a unique starry gray design with a metal filter mesh, accompanied by skyline breathing lights, blending aesthetics with practicality.

    Dolby Atmos technology is a standout feature of this model. Despite its 2.1 configuration, the soundbar utilizes Dolby Atmos processing to simulate a virtual 5.1.4 channel surround sound effect. The addition of DTS Virtual:X technology further enhances this by creating a 360-degree surround sound ambiance, perfect for both movie nights and music sessions.

    Powering the soundbar is a robust 220W output, incorporating a racetrack-shaped speaker structure and dual horn-type acoustic chambers. These components synergize to reduce sound interference and distortion, ensuring crisp and potent audio delivery.
