Nothing is preparing to unveil the Phone (2a) Plus smartphone globally on July 31st. Official confirmations indicate it will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. A recent leak has now revealed additional specifications for Nothing’s forthcoming mid-range device.
Surprisingly, those anticipating a larger display in the Plus model might be disappointed, as it reportedly features the same 6.7-inch AMOLED screen as the standard Phone (2a). The color choices remain consistent with grey and black options, though the leak hints at a slightly altered finish compared to its predecessor.
Key Upgrades in the “Plus” Model
The “Plus” designation appears to stem from several key enhancements. The first notable upgrade is the processor, with the Phone (2a) Plus utilizing the Dimensity 7350, a step up from the Dimensity 7200 Pro found in the standard Phone (2a).
Another significant upgrade is the front-facing camera, which has been enhanced from a 32MP sensor in the standard model to a 50MP sensor in the Plus version. Additionally, the Phone (2a) Plus is anticipated to support faster charging, increasing from 45W in the standard model to 50W.
Similarities and Differences
Despite these improvements, the current leak suggests that these are the only distinguishing features between the two models. With nearly identical design, display, and rear camera configurations, potential buyers might need to weigh the value and their specific needs when choosing between the Phone (2a) Plus and the standard Phone (2a).
The leak also details expected storage options, indicating that the Phone (2a) Plus will likely be offered in two versions: one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and another with 12GB of RAM and the same 256GB of storage. Pricing details have yet to be disclosed.
