OnePlus 13 Camera Upgrades Announced with Sample Photos

OnePlus is ready to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone soon. While we wait, the company has been revealing various details about the OnePlus 13, which seems to share much of its hardware with the new Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. Just a few days ago, OnePlus confirmed the different color options that the latest flagship will come in.

    Camera Hardware Insights

Now, OnePlus is focusing on the camera features of the device. Interestingly, the OnePlus 13 will continue using the Sony LYT-808 as its main camera, just like the OnePlus 12 (curr. $899.99 – 512 GB on Amazon). This means that the OnePlus 13 can take photos with its main sensor at a maximum of 50 MP, using a 1/1.4-inch optical format.

    New Sensor and Features

On another note, OnePlus has introduced a new sensor for the periscope telephoto camera. While the company suggests that this update will enhance image quality, the telephoto camera will still provide 3x optical zoom with an f/2.6 aperture and a 50 MP maximum output, which is a drop from the 64 MP of the OnePlus 12.

Additionally, OnePlus has replaced the 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera from last year’s model with a new 50 MP sensor. This upgrade increases the field of view (FoV) from 114° to 120°. Allegedly, the OnePlus 13 will also be able to record 4K videos with Dolby Vision HDR on all its cameras, including the front camera.

    Hasselblad Features and Performance

As expected, the OnePlus 13 will include Hasselblad camera modes. Also, it will be one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a 6,000 mAh battery. If you check above, you can see some official camera sample shots. Although we can’t draw too many conclusions from these images since they might have been edited, they do appear detailed at first glance and show good HDR processing.
