    Xiaomi Officials Suggest Redmi K70 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

    Xiaomi's Redmi K70 Series to Launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chip

    Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to release its highly anticipated K70 series smartphones by the end of November. As the launch date approaches, more details about the upcoming lineup are surfacing online, including renders and benchmarks. And now, Xiaomi officials have hinted at the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for the Redmi K70 family.

    Excitement for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chip

    Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi China and General Manager of Redmi, recently took to Weibo to express his admiration for the second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor. Weibing referred to it as the "flagship darling of 2023" due to its exceptional performance and energy efficiency. He also questioned whether the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could "replicate the glory of the Snapdragon 870."

    Lei Jun Echoes Sentiments

    Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, echoed Weibing's sentiments, stating that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is indeed a generation of God U with a good reputation. Although neither executive explicitly mentioned the Redmi K70, the timing of their posts strongly suggests that the smartphone will indeed be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

    Redmi K70 Lineup

    Last month, Redmi officially confirmed that the Redmi K70 series smartphones will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. However, this is likely reserved for the top-of-the-line K70 Pro model. This aligns with Redmi's strategy from the previous K60 series, where the Pro model boasted the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, while the standard K60 opted for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

    The Redmi K70 series is expected to include three models: the Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro, and Redmi K70E. The Redmi K70 Pro will lead the lineup, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. On the other hand, the Redmi K70, powered by the second-generation Snapdragon 8, will offer similar performance at a more affordable price. Lastly, the Redmi K70E is rumored to be the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 8300 processor.

    With the launch of the Redmi K70 series just around the corner, Xiaomi fans and smartphone enthusiasts eagerly await the official unveiling of these highly anticipated devices.
