Galaxy Z Flip 6: Leaked Images and Specs Before Launch

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, alongside the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch 7 series, at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10. Despite the official launch being a few days away, several leaks and rumors have already given us insights into the new products, particularly the Galaxy Z Flip 6 specifications.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 images (leaked)

Renowned tipster Evan Blass has shared detailed images of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, revealing a design that closely mirrors its predecessor. Notably, the ring around the rear camera modules appears thicker and more pronounced, while the display borders maintain the same thickness.

An upgraded main sensor and a new chip

Even though the Galaxy Z Flip 6 looks similar to its predecessor on the exterior, it reportedly includes some internal upgrades. According to Ishan Agarwal, the Z Flip 6 will feature a 6.7-inch screen, identical to the predecessor’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, offering a FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2640) and a 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of camera specifications, the rear setup is expected to include a 50MP main camera with an aperture of F1.8 and a 12MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of F2.2. This is a notable improvement from the predecessor’s 12MP main sensor. Additionally, the front camera is likely to be upgraded from 10MP to 32MP for more detailed selfies.

    Performance and build

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the same one used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This chipset will be paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options of either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0. For context, the Z Flip 5 comes with 8GB of RAM and similar storage options.

Interestingly, the new phone might be slightly thicker, measuring 7.4mm compared to the 6.9mm thickness of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. This increase could be due to the larger sensor or a slightly bigger battery. The Z Flip 6 will come with a 4000mAh battery, which is 300mAh more than its predecessor. Despite these changes, the phone will reportedly maintain the same 25W charging speed as before.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Z Flip 6 Dummy Photos Leaked

    Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Z Flip 6 Dummy Photos Leaked

Thanks to a collaboration between 9to5Google and Sonny Dickson, we now have additional images of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The foldable devices are set to be officially presented in Paris on July 10. A few weeks ahead of the launch, prototype and dummy photos of the devices have leaked, providing crucial insights.

The devices in the images are either prototypes or “dummy” models, indicating that significant redesigns might occur. These pictures might be displaying a screen with a more noticeable seam than what the final product will feature, or they might use an older screen to emphasize the phones’ shape and design. However, users are optimistic about a less visible crease when the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip are completely opened to 180 degrees.

    Design Features

The photos also reveal a black prototype version with “Samsung” roughly stamped on the hinges. This suggests that Samsung might replace the etched logo, seen on previous Fold and Flip models, with a stamped one. The etched logo is typically favored for adding a touch of sophistication to these $2,000 devices.

    Hinge and Bezel Adjustments

Additionally, a minor detail to notice is the possible flare in the hinge protection plate at the top and bottom of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While this is somewhat hard to confirm and could be an optical illusion due to the lighting, it appears that the hinge extends a few millimeters more from the main phone panels at the ends compared to the middle, where the Samsung logo is located. The Flip 6 does not show any such visible details.

Despite these minor observations, the design enhancements Samsung has made are apparent in these prototype units. Both phones seem to have a smaller bezel around the internal display, and their overall footprint appears slightly more refined compared to last year’s models.

The starting price for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to be 1,099 US Dollars, while the 512GB model might be priced at 1,219 US Dollars.

If these prices are accurate, it would mean a 100 US Dollar increase compared to the previous generation Galaxy Z Flip 5. • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Features: Should You Wait to Buy?

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Features: Should You Wait to Buy?

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series has set the standard in the foldable phone market with its unique clamshell design and advanced technology. With the anticipated reveal of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in July 2024, many are curious about the new upgrades and features. This article explores the rumors and leaks about the Z Flip 6, helping you decide whether to wait for it or go for the current Galaxy Z Flip 5.

    Design and Durability

The design of the Z Flip 6 is expected to be similar to the Z Flip 5, featuring a sleek clamshell form. However, there might be a shift towards a boxier look, akin to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with sharper corners and a squarer appearance compared to the Z Flip 5’s softer curves. Rumors suggest Samsung might introduce a slimmer hinge mechanism while maintaining the IPX8 water resistance rating. Additionally, the display may show a less visible crease.

The display is likely to continue using Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection. Samsung may also expand its color options, potentially offering seven colors: Crafted Black, Light Blue, Mint, Peach, Silver Shadow, White, and Yellow.

    Display

The flip phone is expected to keep the same 3.4-inch cover display, possibly upgrading from a 60Hz to a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother interactions. The main display is rumored to stay at 6.7 inches with FHD+ resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate.

    Performance and Battery

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring fast performance and efficient multitasking. It might also offer a RAM upgrade, potentially including a 12GB option alongside the standard 8GB for smoother operation.

Battery life could see a significant improvement with a rumored 4,000mAh battery, an upgrade from the Z Flip 5’s 3,700mAh battery, addressing a common criticism of previous models and providing longer usage times on a single charge.

    Camera

The camera system of the Z Flip 6 is expected to receive a boost with a new 50MP main sensor, a significant upgrade from the Z Flip 5’s 12MP sensor, likely improving image quality, especially in low-light conditions. The secondary ultrawide camera and the selfie camera are expected to remain the same. However, Samsung’s software enhancements are anticipated to optimize image processing and introduce new camera features. The camera layout is expected to stay horizontal, but the device’s color might accentuate the camera bump.

    Software and Other Features

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will likely ship with Android 14 and Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1, offering a user-friendly and feature-rich experience. It might also receive the seven years of software updates promised for Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S series.

The Z Flip 6 is expected to retain stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. While features like Wi-Fi 7 might be missing, Samsung is likely to focus on refining existing features and delivering a polished foldable experience.

Should You Wait for the Galaxy Z Flip 6?

Deciding whether to wait for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 depends on your current needs and preferences. If you’re a Z Flip 5 user satisfied with its performance, the upgrade might not be essential. However, if you’re seeking a foldable phone with better battery life and enhanced camera capabilities, the Z Flip 6 could be a compelling choice.

The improved battery life would address a common concern with foldable phones, allowing extended use without worrying about power. The upgraded 50MP main camera could attract photography enthusiasts, offering greater flexibility for cropping and zooming, potentially rivaling traditional flagship phones in image quality.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal priorities. If the rumored improvements align with your needs, waiting for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 might be worthwhile. However, if you need a foldable phone now, the Z Flip 5 remains an excellent device with its unique form factor and innovative features.

It’s always wise to wait for official announcements and reviews before making a final decision. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in July 2024, so stay tuned for more information and hands-on experiences to see if it’s the right foldable phone for you.

  • Leaked Promo Image Reveals Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Z Flip 6

Leaked Promo Image Reveals Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Z Flip 6

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 surfaced in leaked renders a few months ago. Now, the first official promo image featuring the upcoming offerings has leaked out. It was first spotted on Samsung’s Kazakhstan website (now deleted). The marketing poster gives us our best look at the sixth-generation foldables. The South Korean brand is rumoured to unveil a slew of devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10.

Leaked promo image of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 reveal design

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6’s design in the marketing poster is largely in line with the leaked CAD-based renders. The former has a boxy design with sharp corners and a pill-shaped protruding camera island on the rear. The edges are also less rounded compared to its predecessor. The Z Fold 6 is seen in a Grey color option that will likely be marketed as Silver Shadow. Another unnoticeable change on the upcoming offering is that the camera sensors have a ring with a grooved texture.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, it won’t have any major cosmetic changes and will retain the same design as its predecessor. It will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and the same folder icon-shaped cover display on the back. The camera placement is also horizontal but it seems that the sensor ring will be accentuated by the color of the device. In the promo image, it is seen in Light Blue color and so is the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

So far, rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, come with improved batteries, and support for the same 25W fast charging. More details are expected to surface in the coming weeks as we get closer to the launch event.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Ring have made appearances on the FCC listing, providing some essential details. Additionally, the forthcoming flip phone has shown up on the PSI Testing and Certification LTD database, revealing battery specifics.

    Galaxy Z Flip 6 Details

The phone, identified by model number SM-F741U, is listed on the FCC database, confirming the use of dual-cell batteries with model numbers EB-BF741ABY and EB-BF742ABY. The PSI listing verifies the battery capacities: 1097mAh and 2790mAh. This gives a total battery capacity of 3887mAh, which Samsung may advertise as a 4000mAh typical battery capacity.

    For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 had a 3591mAh battery pack (971mAh + 2620mAh), marketed as a 3700mAh battery.

The FCC listing also reveals that the phone will support NFC and WiFi 6E. Furthermore, the UL Demko certification confirms that the Z Flip 6 will support 25W wired fast charging.

    Specifications

The phone will be powered by a Galaxy-branded Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset (with slightly varied clock speeds) and will come with 8GB RAM.

    Listing for the Galaxy Ring

According to the FCC listing, the Galaxy Ring (model number SM-Q503) will be available in sizes ranging from 5-12. Sizes 5-7 will have a 17mAh battery, sizes 8-11 will feature an 18.5mAh battery, and the largest size will equip a 22.5mAh battery. • Galaxy Z Flip 6 Leak: Bigger Camera & Redesigned Speaker Grill

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Leak: Bigger Camera & Redesigned Speaker Grill

Samsung is anticipated to showcase its 6th generation foldable, the Galaxy Buds 3, and the Galaxy Ring at the forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which is likely to take place on July 10 in Paris.

    Galaxy Z Flip 6 Render

The render reveals a redesigned speaker grill and larger camera modules.

Before the event, design details of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 have surfaced thanks to a leaked render of the phone featuring a third-party protective case. Notably, the 6th generation flip phone will present only a few minor design updates.

Comparatively, the Z Flip 6 render displays even sharper frame edges than the Galaxy Z Flip 5. A design alteration resembling the Galaxy S24 series is evident in the speaker grill. Instead of multiple separate holes, it now features a single wide opening.

Furthermore, the camera modules in the render are larger than those of its predecessor, and the gap between the two modules has been minimized.

    Additional Features

An extra hole in the frame at the top of the phone is also noticeable, unlike the Z Flip 5, which had only one. However, this seems to be an error, as the Z Flip 5 includes all the sensors found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra (one below and two on top), each with three similar holes. In contrast, the Z Flip 6 render shows four.

Nevertheless, it’s important to treat this information cautiously, as it is based on a leaked render and not a photo of the actual product. With several days remaining before the release, we will continue to provide updates as new information emerges.
