    This marks an improvement from the same period last year when the company sold 1.75 million tablets and held a 16.3% market share.

    In the previous quarter, Samsung introduced several new tablets, including the Galaxy Tab A9 / A9+, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. Additionally, the company offers the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which feature OLED screens and flagship performance for users seeking a premium experience.

    Apple’s Dominance

    According to shipment data, Apple remains the market leader in the United States, selling 4.92 million iPads in the first quarter, giving it a market share of over 50%. The company has also seen a slight growth in its iPad market share in Q1 2024 compared to Q1 2023. Notably, Samsung is the only company to have sustained positive annual growth.

    Compared to the first quarter of last year, Apple experienced an 8.8% decline in iPad sales, dropping from 5.4 million units. With the release of the new iPad Pro series, Apple’s market share is anticipated to rebound. As for Samsung, it is unlikely to release a new high-end tablet this year. Typically, the company updates its tablet series every year and a half. The Galaxy Tab S9 was released in July last year, so we might expect the Galaxy Tab S10 series to arrive in early 2025.
