Specifications of NEO 16 Models
The NEO 16 E25 models are powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, which has 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores. On the other hand, the NEO 16 A25 comes with either the Ryzen 9 9955HX or the 9955HX3D variant that features 16 Zen 5 cores and supports 32 threads.
Graphics Options
For graphics, XMG provides the RTX 5070 Ti with 12 GB VRAM and a total graphics power (TGP) of 140 W. Additionally, there’s the RTX 5080 that includes 16 GB VRAM and the RTX 5090 with 24 GB VRAM, both sporting a TGP of 175 W.
XMG has also enhanced the OASIS external water cooling solution (Mk2-V4), which is offered as a reliable choice for optimal cooling performance. The updated V4 model has a quieter pump and swaps the old magnetic connector for a snap-in mounting solution, while keeping self-sealing connectors. Although the standard air cooling for the compact 16-inch laptop provides impressive performance, the XMG OASIS enables even better performance with reduced noise levels, particularly for the RTX 5090 GPU.
Display Choices and Chassis Design
Customers can select between two 16-inch 16:10 display options, depending on their budget. The all-aluminum laptop chassis, which contains a 99.8 Wh battery, measures 356.7 x 259.9 x 27.9 mm. In terms of weight, the new package features lighter power supplies made with silicon carbide semiconductors. The RTX 5080 and 590 models come with a PSU measuring 179 x 81 x 27 mm, weighing 834 g, whereas the RTX 5070 Ti models include a smaller PSU of 65 x 75 x 25 mm, weighing 751 g.
Storage and RAM Capacity
For storage, XMG supports dual M.2 SSDs, each capable of up to 8 TB, with one using PCIe 5.0 and the other PCIe 4.0. The current maximum RAM capacity is set at 96 GB, but XMG plans to allow up to 128 GB in the future. The Intel model supports DDR5-6400 RAM, while the AMD model is limited to DDR5-5600 RAM modules.
Connectivity Options
The ports differ across the two models. Both the Intel and AMD versions now have a Mini DisplayPort 2.1 (DP80), but the Intel versions support Thunderbolt 4 with an integrated DisplayPort 2.1 (DP80) at the back, while the AMD versions only have USB-C 3.2 Gen2 with DisplayPort 1.4a. Dream Machines to Launch AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D Laptop Soon
We recently shared that Dream Machines, a laptop system integrator, will be the first to provide AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D gaming CPUs in their upcoming laptops. There was some initial confusion about the shipping dates for these next-gen laptops, even though they were already up for pre-order.
Shipping Timeline Confirmed
Recently, Videocardz has reported that Dream Machines has confirmed the first Ryzen 9 9955HX3D laptops will begin shipping to customers either at the end of March or the start of April.
Specs and Pricing
Moreover, the company has stated that the RAM in these gaming machines will be DDR5-5200 or DDR5-5600, which could lead to notable performance improvements for the Zen 5 CPUs. The new CPUs are expected to be more readily available than the previous models, but the pricing still indicates their premium status, with one laptop configuration featuring Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU priced at a staggering $3,289. An optional 2 TB SSD upgrade will also be an option, increasing the cost even more.
Variants and Features
Dream Machines will also provide versions of the laptops with a more affordable RTX 5070 Ti paired with the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, which will help to lower the overall price. Both high-end and mid-range models are expected to come with liquid cooling, allowing Dream Machines to push the GPU’s TGP up to 175 W. The other specs are quite impressive too, featuring a 2,560 × 1,600 p display with a 300 Hz refresh rate and brightness of 500 nits, along with a solid selection of ports that includes dual USB Type-C ports, DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1, and three USB Type-A ports.
Currently, these laptops are only available through the Polish Dream Machines online store, but since they are based on generic Tongfang or Clevo models, they should soon be offered by other system integrators.

Dream Machines is not a well-known brand, but it produces laptops using Clevo and Tongfang barebones, similar to Schenker and XMG. Their latest model boasts impressive gaming capabilities, powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor.
Processor Performance
AMD’s newest flagship gaming processor is still somewhat uncommon in laptops, yet it’s expected to be incredibly fast. It has 16 Zen 5 performance cores that can reach boost clock speeds of up to 5.4 GHz and features a 128MB L3 cache. The top configuration combines this robust AMD chip with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, which comes with 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a total graphics power (TGP) of 175 watts. If this laptop can manage to keep its components cool during intensive tasks, it could rank among the fastest gaming laptops available.
Display and Memory
The gaming laptop from Dream Machines also showcases a 16-inch 16:10 IPS display, offering a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a swift 300Hz refresh rate, and a bright 500 nits. It fully covers the sRGB color space, ensuring vibrant visuals. For further connectivity, it offers DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1, three USB-A ports, and a 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet port. The specifications also include stereo speakers rated at 2 x 2 watts and a 1080p webcam. AMD Launches Fire Range CPUs with Ryzen 9 9955HX3D at CES 2025
While AMD faced some leaks during CES, one of its top products remained under wraps until the end. The company’s Zen 5-based Fire Range CPUs have returned, now featuring an HX designation. Last year’s Ryzen 8000 Hawk Point CPUs did not have this tag, and this time, only three models were revealed, unlike the Dragon Range, which had seven different versions.
New 3D V-cache Laptop Chip
We have a second 3D V-cache laptop processor, the oddly named Ryzen 9 9955HX3D. Its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, was only available in a single laptop and a mini-PC, so we can only hope this new chip will see broader adoption among manufacturers. On paper, the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D is expected to offer noticeable improvements in performance across generations due to its new Zen 5 cores and additional L3 cache, but the actual performance will depend largely on the power it can access.
Similar Non-HX Models
The Ryzen 9 9955HX and Ryzen 9 9850HX are nearly identical to the HX3D variant, differing slightly in boost clock speeds and total cache. Regrettably, this is all the details AMD has shared about the Fire Range series. The absence of “AI” in the name suggests that there is no dedicated NPU included. Furthermore, there is plenty of room left for future Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 models to be introduced.
