OneXPlayer G1: AMD Ryzen & Intel Ultra 7 Mini PC from $899

The OneXPlayer G1 is set to debut on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo tomorrow. As is typical for them, One-Netbook has shared important information such as pricing and memory options in advance. To summarize, the OneXPlayer G1 is positioned as One-Netbook’s answer to the Win Mini, which GPD is gearing up to update with a 2025 version.

    Specifications

Previously, One-Netbook hinted that the new model would feature an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, similar to what’s found in the OneXPlayer X1 Pro and in some recent gaming laptops like the Asus TUF Gaming A14 (currently priced at $1,499 on Amazon). However, it has now been revealed that the OneXPlayer G1 will kick off with the older Ryzen 7 8840U, which powers several existing OneXPlayer models.

    New Variants

Interestingly, One-Netbook has also introduced a Core Ultra 7 255H variant that is based on Intel’s latest Arrow Lake-H architecture. For context, this Core Ultra 7 255H features 6 Performance cores, 8 Efficient cores, and 2 Lower Power Efficient Cores, along with a new Arc 140T iGPU that could be as much as 60% faster compared to the Arc 140V.

    Pricing Details

Despite this, versions with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 will be priced $100 higher than their Core Ultra 7 255H equivalents. The OneXPlayer G1 will be open for backing on Indiegogo starting at 17:00 UTC tomorrow, and customers who order before this time on January 13 will receive a free case with their purchase. At launch, One-Netbook will offer the OneXPlayer G1 at the following price points:

  • Ayaneo Flip KB Handheld Console: Great Functionality & Performance

Ayaneo Flip KB Handheld Console: Great Functionality & Performance

While the Steam Deck console and its clones feature a sleek design that merges a screen with game controllers on either side, they can appear rather bulky, particularly with models boasting screens larger than 7 inches. To address this issue, manufacturers have looked back to the Nintendo DS clamshell style, which allows users to open and adjust the screen. Although this design isn’t as trendy as the Steam Deck’s right now, more console creators are beginning to embrace it. Ayaneo has recently introduced its version with the new Flip KB / DS model.

    Testing the Flip KB Model

We had the chance to try out the Flip KB version, which swaps out the lower screen for a mini keyboard. The clamshell design is not only stylish but also more compact than typical Steam Deck clones, even if it does have a bit more thickness. It runs on AMD’s Ryzen 7 8840U, housing eight Zen 4 cores and sixteen threads alongside the Radeon 780M integrated GPU. This console impresses with solid functionality and respectable graphics performance, all while keeping its thermal design power (TDP) capped at 30 W.

    Display and Features

On the bright side, the console boasts a 7-inch IPS display with a glossy finish and an average peak brightness of 720 nits. Since the reviewed model was a pre-mass-production version, the resolution was limited to 1080p, so we couldn’t test lower resolutions that could use less power. Other advantages of this model include top-notch game controllers, future-ready connectivity through USB4 and OCuLink ports, a speedy microSD card reader, and the AYASpace 2.0 control center.

    Downsides to Consider

However, there are certain downsides as well. The CPU performance lags a bit behind other chips like the Z1 Extreme or the older R7 7840U that aren’t restricted by a 30 W limit. Additionally, the overall power efficiency doesn’t quite match the TDP limit. Under full load, the fan noise is noticeably higher than average, even though the cooling system employs a vapor chamber. Battery life is also impacted by the smaller 45 Wh capacity and the previously mentioned locked resolution.

    Crowdfunding Details

It’s important to highlight that the crowdfunding campaign for the Duo will continue until November 22, and GPD will not distribute any units to customers before that date. GPD Launches Affordable 32GB RAM AMD Convertible Laptop Release Date

GPD has officially announced a release date for the Duo, nearly two months after its initial launch promise. To summarize, the company had originally planned to launch the device in August. However, this timeframe passed without any explanation for the delay.

    New Launch Date

Now, GPD has confirmed that the dual OLED device will be available on October 8. It will first be launched on Indiegogo, with the campaign going live at 02:00 UTC. It’s important to remember that this release method may lead to the Duo being shipped only in late autumn or early winter at the earliest.

    Additional Memory Option

In addition to the launch date, GPD has introduced a fourth memory option. Initially, the company required a selection of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU for configurations with 32 GB of RAM. This requirement has now changed. Customers will have the option to order the Duo with a Ryzen 7 8840U, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD for $1,380 on Indiegogo. This price reflects a $100 increase over the entry-level model. For context, here are the new pricing details for GPD‘s revised SKUs:
