GTBox T1: New HomePod Lookalike with Radeon 780M and eGPU Support

    Key Takeaways

    1. The GTBox T1 mini-PC resembles an Apple HomePod and is marketed under names like Soayan EXR1 and Chatreey EX1.
    2. It features a Ryzen 7 8745HS APU with 8 Zen 4 cores, operating at 4.9 GHz, and has a thermal design power (TDP) of 35 W.
    3. The device includes built-in stereo speakers, making it suitable for video conferences, and is equipped with AMD’s Radeon 780M iGPU for gaming at 1080p.
    4. It offers connectivity options like USB 4, Ethernet, DisplayPort 2.0, and HDMI 2.1, with multiple USB Type-A ports.
    5. The GTBox T1 comes with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and 1 TB of storage for $549.99, with a warning that disassembly is destructive.

Last week, information surfaced about a new mini-PC that resembles an Apple HomePod (currently priced at $339 on Amazon) more than a typical mini-PC. As we previously mentioned, this device is marketed under different names on AliExpress, such as Soayan EXR1 or Chatreey EX1. Now, GTBox has joined the ranks as a global distributor, introducing the GTBox T1.

    Similarities with Other Models

Available through MiniXPC or directly from GTBox, the GTBox T1 seems to be a direct replica of the Soayan EXR1 or the Chatreey EX1. This means that the GTBox T1 comes equipped with built-in stereo speakers, ideal for video conferences. Moreover, the mini-PC is powered by a Ryzen 7 8745HS APU from AMD’s Hawk Point series. It is manufactured on a 4 nm process and boasts 8 Zen 4 cores operating at a speed of 4.9 GHz. The Ryzen 7 8745HS also has a thermal design power (TDP) of 35 W, similar to the more powerful Ryzen 7 8845HS we reviewed in the Geekom A8 Max mini-PC and several laptops.

    Graphics Capabilities

Due to this, the GTBox T1 is equipped with AMD’s Radeon 780M iGPU, which should be capable of running many AAA games at 1080p with low graphics settings. Alternatively, users can enhance their graphics performance by connecting an eGPU through its USB 4 port. As depicted in the image below, the GTBox T1 is fitted with Ethernet, DisplayPort 2.0, HDMI 2.1, and several USB Type-A ports located on the back panel of the device.

    Memory and Storage Details

Additionally, this mini-PC comes with SODIMM DDR5 RAM and an M.2 SSD. Unfortunately, GTBox has cautioned that taking apart its mini-PC, which measures 167 x 112 mm, is a destructive endeavor. Presently, the GTBox T1 can be found on GTBox’s website with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for $549.99, which includes a $50 introductory discount. Alternatively, Minixpc is offering the same configuration for $599.99.

    Ayaneo AM01S Mini-PC: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 & 32GB RAM

    Key Takeaways

    1. Ayaneo launched the AM01S mini-PC on Indiegogo, succeeding the AM01 and AM02 models.
    2. The AM01S features a 4-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi 6E support, and an M.2 2280 slot for PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
    3. The starting price of the AM01S is $349 without RAM or storage, while a more powerful version starts at $639.
    4. The AM01S is equipped with either the Ryzen 7 8745HS or the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, with the latter providing better performance.
    5. Ayaneo plans to begin shipping the first units of the AM01S in November 2025.

Ayaneo has finally launched its highly anticipated third mini-PC on Indiegogo. The AM01S, which was announced over a year ago, follows the previous models, AM01 and AM02 (currently priced at $599 on Amazon). Interestingly, the AM01S is actually more powerful than the AM02, although this isn’t always the case.

    Specifications Comparison

To provide some background, the AM02 is exclusively available with AMD’s Ryzen 7 8845HS processor. In contrast, the AM01S kicks off with the Ryzen 7 8745HS, which is approximately 7% slower in our tests compared to the Ryzen 7 8845HS. On the other hand, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 that Ayaneo also offers with the AM01S outperforms the Ryzen 7 8845HS in both CPU and GPU performance.

    Features and Variants

All models of the AM01S come equipped with a 4-inch touchscreen that has a resolution of 960 x 400, Wi-Fi 6E support, and an M.2 2280 slot for PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Notably, the Ryzen 7 8745HS and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 versions seem to differ in terms of their secondary SSD options. Sadly, Ayaneo’s Indiegogo campaign page doesn’t offer clear information on this matter.

    Pricing and Availability

The starting price of the AM01S is set at $349 without RAM or storage, paired with a Ryzen 7 8745HS APU. On the other hand, Ayaneo lists a barebones version with the more powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 at $639. The price for the B.Duck variant, which includes a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 32 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage, can go up to $999 on Indiegogo. As of now, Ayaneo aims to start shipping the first units in November 2025.

Chuwi first announced the AuBox back in February 2025, but details about its price and when it would be available were not shared at that time. Now, shoppers can buy this mini PC, and it’s listed on AliExpress for $449. This price is a bit lower compared to other small PCs that offer similar specifications.

    Performance Specifications

For anyone who didn’t catch our initial report, the AuBox is powered by the Ryzen 7 8745HS. This chip is quite similar to the 8845HS but lacks the NPU feature. It belongs to AMD’s Hawk Point series, boasting 8 Zen 4 cores and reaching boost clocks of up to 4.9 GHz.

    Gaming Capabilities

Furthermore, the AuBox comes equipped with the Radeon 780M, allowing it to run most AAA games on low to medium settings at 1080p resolution. A noteworthy feature of this mini PC is its USB4 port, which gives users the option to enhance their gaming experience with an external GPU (like the GMKtec AD-GP1, currently priced at $469.99 on Amazon). However, having an OCuLink port would’ve made it even better suited for such configurations.

When talking about connectivity options, apart from the USB4 port, the AuBox includes the following:

Chuwi also asserts that the AuBox has a sophisticated cooling system that lets the mini PC operate at a TDP setting of up to 65 W.
