Redmi K80 Official Renders Leaked Before Launch Event

The Redmi K80 series is set to debut in China in under a day. While many are excited about the Redmi K80 Pro, the Xiaomi sub-brand is shining a light on the standard model by releasing images of it before the official announcement.

    Design and Features

A Weibo post has revealed that the Redmi K80 will sport a design similar to the K80 Pro. Nonetheless, both models look quite different from their predecessors. Instead of the large rectangular camera setup seen in the Redmi K70 series, the K80 duo features an off-center circular camera layout, reminiscent of the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 12R (currently available on Amazon for $499).

    Color and Build

The Redmi K80 will come in an exclusive color called Xiyue Blue, which is a light blue shade. The images indicate that the phone will feature a dual finish 2.5D glass back. As depicted in the photos, the upper portion of the phone is smooth and clean, transitioning to a patterned lower part that starts just below the camera island.

    Camera and Specs

Inside the camera island, there are various markings arranged in a circle. These designs are also found on the Redmi K80 Pro. However, the K80 Pro includes a telephoto camera, which the standard K80 lacks, as seen in the image below.

The Redmi K80 will share a Grand Slam 2K display provided by TCL, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a matte-finished metal frame, and an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. Unfortunately, it likely won’t feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which, along with the telephoto camera and a few other features, will set it apart from the K80 Pro.

    Global Release Uncertainty

The Redmi K80 series will be launched in China, but there are no current details on a worldwide release. The Redmi K70 had a sort of global launch as the Poco F6 Pro (available on Amazon.de for €331). There are whispers that the Redmi K80 Pro might be available outside China under the name Poco F7 Ultra.

Xiaomi Unveils Camera Features of Redmi K80 Pro

Xiaomi is gearing up for a significant launch event in China on November 27. During this event, the company plans to unveil several products under its sub-brand. The Redmi K80 series is set to take center stage, and recent teasers have already disclosed a variety of specifications for the K80 Pro.

    Camera Features

In the latest teasers, Xiaomi has highlighted the camera capabilities of the Redmi K80 Pro. According to one of the teasers, the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship features a triple-camera arrangement on its back. This setup includes a 50 MP main camera, known as the Light Hunter 800 sensor, which comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

    Telephoto and Ultrawide Lenses

The primary camera is complemented by a “floating telephoto” sensor, similar to what’s found in the Xiaomi 15. This telephoto lens is also 50 MP and offers OIS, but it provides a 2.5x optical zoom, unlike the 3x zoom available in Xiaomi’s latest flagship. The third camera in the trio is a 32 MP ultrawide lens, boasting a 120-degree field of view.

    Advanced Imaging Technology

Moreover, the Redmi K80 Pro is equipped with Xiaomi AISP 2.0, which is said to be the brand’s most advanced imaging algorithm. This technology incorporates four major models and aims to produce photos with rich details.

To demonstrate the capabilities of the Redmi K80 Pro’s camera setup, Xiaomi has released two close-up telephoto images. These samples display vibrant colors and intricate details.

In summary, the camera setup of the K80 Pro seems to be a significant improvement over its predecessor. While details about the front camera are still under wraps, it’s anticipated to be a 20 MP OV20B sensor, representing another enhancement. Other confirmed specifications for the device include a robust 6,000 mAh battery, a 2K display, 50W wireless charging, and 120W wired fast charging (Anker 737 GaNPrime currently priced at $53.40 on Amazon).

    Impressive Camera Performance

Recently, the Redmi K80 Pro achieved an outstanding AnTuTu benchmark score of 3,194,766. It has also been detected on Geekbench 6, along with 3DMark benchmarks. On Geekbench 6, the device recorded a single-core score of 3050 and a multi-core score of 9216, placing it amongst the leading Android smartphones. Redmi K80 Pro: Impressive Benchmarks for Snapdragon 8 Elite Phone

Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching the Redmi K80 series this week in China. This series is set to be the most high-end offering from the Redmi brand for the year, debuting alongside other gadgets like the Redmi Watch 5 and Buds 6 Pro. It is anticipated that the Redmi K80 Pro will be rebranded as the Poco F7 Ultra next year, promising to meet the performance expectations associated with that name.

    Performance Expectations

According to Digital Chat Station, the forthcoming Redmi K80 Pro is expected to deliver performance on par with the best Android smartphones available, thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. On Geekbench 6, the K80 Pro achieves a single-core score of 3050 and a multi-core score of 9216. While gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone 9 might surpass these figures, they are still impressive compared to the average Snapdragon 8 Elite device.

  • Redmi K80 Pro Outperforms ROG Phone 9 with Top AnTuTu Score

Redmi K80 Pro Outperforms ROG Phone 9 with Top AnTuTu Score

Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi K80 series in China on November 27. This new series is also anticipated to make its global appearance in December or early 2025 under the Poco brand. The standard model is expected to be released as the F7 Pro, while the K80 Pro will be branded as the F7 Ultra.

    Performance Highlights

Before the Chinese launch, Xiaomi revealed that the Redmi K80 Pro has an impressive AnTuTu score of nearly 3.2 million. Specifically, the score is stated to be 3,194,766 points. This outstanding achievement makes it the top scorer among Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship devices, surpassing the record set by the Asus ROG Phone 9 in benchmark tests.

    Cooling Solutions

The remarkable score may be attributed in part to the enhanced 3D cooling system integrated into the Redmi K80 Pro. Although the company has not disclosed detailed information about this setup, it likely features a sizable vapor chamber. However, it remains uncertain if this will effectively maintain good performance during intense usage.

    Gaming Features

In addition to the high AnTuTu score, Xiaomi has indicated that the Redmi K80 Pro will combine the Snapdragon 8 Elite with a D1 chip. This chip is designed to manage the display while improving frame rates and resolution during gaming sessions. The chipset aims to deliver impressive gaming capabilities without excessive power consumption, ultimately contributing to improved battery longevity.

In summary, based on Xiaomi’s teasers, the K80 Pro appears to be an excellent choice for those seeking a high-performance smartphone. It might even capture the top position in AnTuTu’s flagship smartphone rankings next month.

Redmi K80 Pro: Snapdragon 8 Elite, D1 Chip, 3M AnTuTu Score

Last month, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in China. On November 27, their sub-brand Redmi is set to present the Redmi K80 series to the Chinese audience. Today, the brand shared a poster that officially reveals the chipset powering the Redmi K80 Pro.

    Redmi K80 Pro’s Chipset Revealed

The Redmi K80 Pro is outfitted with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a gaming-focused D1 independent graphics chip. This powerful duo has achieved an outstanding AnTuTu benchmark score of 3,194,766, highlighting its remarkable performance abilities. The Redmi K70 Ultra, which launched a few months ago in China, was the first model to sport the D1 graphics chip powered by the Dimensity 9300 Plus. Besides the Snapdragon 8 Elite and D1 chips, the K80 Pro comes equipped with Gaming Engine 4.0, which allows for 2K super-resolution and 120fps super frame rates for all gaming experiences.

    Display and Eye Care Features

The Redmi K80 series will be equipped with a CSOT 2K M9 flat display that boasts a peak brightness of 1800 nits, making it easier to see outdoors while also cutting power consumption by 20.3%, thus making it both bright and energy-saving. Furthermore, the series integrates hardware-level DC dimming and circular polarization technology to help reduce eye fatigue. The AON Intelligent Eye Protection feature uses the front camera to observe user eye habits and send timely reminders accordingly.

    Design and Durability

In terms of aesthetics, the Redmi K80 Pro highlights precise craftsmanship through a light mist dual-work integration technique, enhancing its elegance by 2.5 times. It uses Xiaomi’s screen routing technology, achieving an ultra-thin 1.9mm bottom bezel and a nearly flawless 50:50 weight distribution. Remarkably, this is Redmi’s first device to feature a seamless top design. The K80 Pro also brings in Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0, which includes an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that ensures fast and precise recognition, even with wet hands. Moreover, the K80 series is rated for IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance.

  • Redmi K80 Pro Launch: 2K Display and Fresh Design Features

Redmi K80 Pro Launch: 2K Display and Fresh Design Features

The Redmi K series of Android smartphones began as unique flagship killers. The upcoming Pro model is expected to feature a flat display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a metallic mid-frame, and a corner camera bump, similar to the iQoo 13, OnePlus 13, and Realme GT7 Pro.

    Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset

The K80 Pro is rumored to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is a common feature among these high-end devices. This also means that it will be comparable to the 15 Pro from Xiaomi, Redmi’s parent company. However, just because they share this chipset doesn’t imply that the two models will be exactly alike.

    Display Differences

While the 15 Pro launched with a 2K display, the K80 Pro is also expected to offer a similar feature. However, it’s reported that the K80 Pro will come with an LTPS panel sourced from TCL’s CSOT, whereas the 15 Pro has an LTPO display. This difference could affect the power efficiency and refresh rate of the two smartphones, making one potentially more advanced than the other.
