Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Beats Razr 60 Ultra and Oppo Find N5 in Benchmarks

    Key Takeaways

    1. Xiaomi will host a major launch event on June 26, introducing several new products, including the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and Mix Flip 2.
    2. The Mix Flip 2 has been spotted on Geekbench, identified by its model number ‘2505APX7BC’.
    3. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and features 12 GB of RAM.
    4. The Mix Flip 2 outperforms the Oppo Find N5 by 3.7% in multi-core tasks and surpasses the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra by nearly 10%.
    5. However, the Mix Flip 2 does not perform as well as these devices in Geekbench’s single-core test.

Xiaomi has officially announced that it will be hosting a huge launch event later this week, right after Vivo introduced the X Fold5 in China. As we have mentioned before, Xiaomi plans to reveal not only the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and the Redmi K Pad but also the Pad 7S Pro 12.5 and the Mix Flip 2 on June 26.

    Leaked Information Ahead of Launch

Though the Mix Flip 2 isn’t officially revealed yet, it has already been spotted on Geekbench. As usual, the benchmarking site identifies the upcoming device using its model number ‘2505APX7BC’ instead of its commercial name. Still, this model number has been previously associated with the Mix Flip 2.

    Performance Details

Geekbench shows that the Mix Flip 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite, equipped with 12 GB of RAM, unlike the Leading Version edition that will support the Honor Magic V5. While the former offers slightly less performance compared to the latter, it includes the complete eight-core version rather than the seven-core variant seen in the Oppo Find N5.

Not surprisingly, the Mix Flip 2 scores better than the Oppo Find N5 in multi-core tasks, but only by 3.7%. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s upcoming clamshell surpasses the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra (currently $899.99 on Amazon) by nearly 10% in the same benchmark, even though they both use the same 8-core chipset. On the other hand, the Mix Flip 2 does not perform as well as both devices in Geekbench’s single-core test.

  • Redmi K80 Extreme Edition: Xiaomi Promises 35% Battery Boost

Redmi K80 Extreme Edition: Xiaomi Promises 35% Battery Boost

    Key Takeaways

    1. Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition this month, featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chipset and a specialized display chip for enhanced performance.
    2. The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will have a battery capacity of 7,410 mAh, a 35% increase from its predecessor’s 5,500 mAh.
    3. The new device will support 100 W wired charging and utilize ‘Bypass Charging Plus’ technology to reduce battery degradation.
    4. It’s unclear if the battery enhancements will be available in a global version of the device.
    5. Xiaomi aims to stay competitive with the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition, especially against models like the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.

Xiaomi is actively stirring excitement about an upcoming addition to the Redmi K80 series on social media platforms in China. As mentioned earlier, the company has already announced that the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition is set to debut this month, featuring MediaTek’s newest Dimensity 9400+ chipset. What’s more, a specialized display chip is expected to enhance overall performance compared to similar devices.

    Battery Life Expectations

In terms of battery life, Xiaomi has assured that the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition won’t be outdone by its rivals. To give some background, its predecessor came out last year with a capacity of 5,500 mAh. Although this was an impressive battery size, newer models like the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro have surpassed the 7,000 mAh threshold.

Xiaomi has disclosed that the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will boast a larger battery capacity of 7,410 mAh, which reflects a nearly 35% increase from the previous year’s model. While this is 140 mAh less than what the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro offers, Xiaomi plans to make up for this by introducing faster wired charging capabilities.

    Fast Charging Features

The device will support 100 W wired charging and will also implement ‘Bypass Charging Plus’ technology, aimed at reducing battery degradation over time. However, it remains uncertain if these battery enhancements will be available in a global version. Considering that the Xiaomi 14T Pro includes a smaller battery compared to the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition (currently priced at $625 on Amazon), it’s plausible that we might see a similar scenario with the Xiaomi 15T Pro later this year.

    Key Takeaways

    1. Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition alongside the Redmi K Pad before the end of the month, but full details are not yet disclosed.
    2. The device features a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor and 16 GB of RAM, with confirmed scores reaching 3.24 million on AnTuTu V10.
    3. The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition aims to outperform competitors, potentially exceeding the performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9400 devices.
    4. A score of 3.24 million would set a new record in AnTuTu’s Android rankings, surpassing the current leader, RedMagic 10S Pro Plus.
    5. Promotional images reveal the device in three color variants, featuring a 50 MP main camera with OIS and a 6.83-inch display with thin bezels.

Xiaomi is currently not disclosing all the details about the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition. Instead, they have hinted that this new device will launch alongside the Redmi K Pad before the month concludes. Also known as the Redmi K80 Ultra, the phone has already been listed on Geekbench with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor and 16 GB of RAM.

    Confirmed Specs

Xiaomi has confirmed this information through another series of official teasers. The company states that the combination of the Dimensity 9400+ and their in-house D2 display chip enables the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition to achieve a remarkable score of 3.24 million on AnTuTu V10. If retail versions manage to reach this score, it would mean the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition exceeds the average scores recorded by devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and Dimensity 9400 in our evaluations.

    Performance Edge

Notably, a score of 3.24 million would set a new record in AnTuTu’s official Android rankings. As of now, the RedMagic 10S Pro Plus (currently priced at $899 on Amazon) is leading this table with an approximate score of 2.95 million. In simpler terms, Xiaomi is indicating that the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition could have a 10% performance lead over its competitors.

    Design Features

In addition, Xiaomi has released a new collection of promotional images showcasing the device. These images reveal the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition in three color variants, one of which is named ‘Tsukiiwa White.’ From the visuals, we can infer that the phone is equipped with a 50 MP main camera featuring OIS, which Xiaomi plans to pair with a 6.83-inch display that has very thin bezels.
