Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, Razr+ & Edge 50 Neo Mocha Mousse Launch

Motorola has revealed the introduction of the Razr 50 Ultra, the Razr+, and the Edge 50 Neo smartphones in a new color called Mocha Mousse, which has been named the Pantone Color of the Year 2025. This cozy, earthy tone offers a fresh aesthetic to Motorola’s lineup of smartphones.

    Global Launch and Pricing

The Mocha Mousse versions of the Razr 50 Ultra/Razr+ and Edge 50 Neo will be rolled out in select markets worldwide, keeping the existing price points. Motorola India has started to display the Mocha Mousse color variants of the Razr 50 Ultra and Edge 50 Neo on its official site, hinting at their imminent availability in Indian retail stores.

    Insights from Motorola Executives

Ruben Castano, who serves as the Vice President of Customer Experience and Design at Motorola, emphasized the importance of this year’s color and the ongoing partnership with Pantone, stating:
“Mocha Mousse emphasizes the significance of enjoying the moment—a reminder to appreciate life’s small joys. It also motivated us to design a new soft inlay made from coffee grounds. Its warm and soothing essence captured the sensory quality of this hue.
“We utilized Mocha Mousse on two distinct devices because this color is remarkably adaptable and fashionable. This provides our customers with enhanced opportunities for connection, happiness, and self-expression. We take immense pride in the devices that showcase the Pantone Color of the Year 2025 and our long-term strategic partnership with Pantone.”

    Pantone’s Perspective

Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, also expressed her views on the partnership:
“The rising trend to connect more closely with the natural world is beautifully articulated by Motorola in the gadgets they developed using Pantone Color of the Year 2025. Defined by its organic character, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse skillfully merges the digital and physical realms, adding an intimate and sensory aspect to the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra/Motorola Razr+ and the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, enhancing our daily interactions with our beloved devices.”

    Notable Omissions

You might notice that some Motorola devices that many expected to be included are not on this list. The most significant absences are the Moto G64 and Moto G (2024), both of which were launched this year and were anticipated to receive the Android 15 update. This list is not definitive; it’s made based on information from the support pages. More devices are likely to be added, so if your Motorola phone is absent, hold tight for the official list.

Motorola is already rolling out the beta version to several devices, including the Edge 50 Fusion. By joining Motorola’s beta program, you could gain early access to the latest software.

    New Features in Android 15

    1. Private Space
Android 15 introduces a feature called private space, which provides a secure area for important apps. This space is concealed from recent apps, settings, and the rest of the device, making it the ideal spot for sensitive finance or dating applications.
    2. App Archiving
Currently, Android phones have an app archiving feature that allows users to uninstall apps while retaining user data, but this was limited to apps from the Google Play Store. The new Android 15 version includes this feature for apps installed from other sources as well. It helps save storage by archiving apps you might not want to use temporarily. When you decide to reinstall the app, there’s no need to log in again or adjust the settings.
    3. Enhanced Multitasking
Android 15 boosts multitasking capabilities, especially for larger devices like foldables and tablets. It enables users to create app pairs for easier access to favorite apps in split-screen mode. To set up an app pair, simply open apps in split-screen, tap the app icons on top, and select Save app pair. A new shortcut icon for this split-screen app pair will appear on your home screen. Additionally, there’s a foldable-specific feature that allows users to keep using an app on the cover display after closing the main screen without needing to unlock the device. You can also pin or unpin the taskbar on foldables and tablets for quick access to commonly used apps.

The latest Android version also introduces real-time widget preview, theft detection, and support for satellite connectivity, among other improvements. The animations and overall software experience have seen significant enhancements.

New Motorola Razr Foldable Challenges Samsung’s Dominance

It appears that Motorola isn’t finished competing with the Galaxy Z Flip6 just yet. The company has successfully introduced two devices so far, but under various names. In North America, it markets the Razr 2024 and Razr 2024 Plus, currently priced at $989.99 on Amazon. Meanwhile, in other regions, these devices are available as the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra.

    New Launch on the Horizon

Recently, Motorola rolled out the Razr 50s, which mirror the specifications of both the Razr 2024 and the Razr 50. Now, Motorola has also received certification for another model in the Razr 50 series from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). This often indicates that a company may be planning to launch a new device, although there’s no assurance that it will actually happen.

    Details About the Upcoming Model

The device that has yet to be officially revealed is the Razr 50s Ultra, which received WPC certification on November 6. Visually, the Razr 50s Ultra closely resembles the current Razr 50 Ultra. The similarities don’t stop at just the looks, though.

Interestingly, both the Razr 50s Ultra and the Razr 50 Ultra share the same base model number, XT2451. It’s highly probable that the Razr 50s Ultra will be a version tailored for specific regions or network carriers, featuring the same set of capabilities.
