    2,304 Zones, 2000 Nits: TCL’s New 4K QD-Mini LED Monitor in US

    Key Takeaway

    – TCL C2A Pro priced at $999.99 on Amazon US, over double its $488 China launch price.
    – 27-inch 4K QD-Mini LED monitor with 2,304 local dimming zones and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness.
    – Native 160Hz 4K refresh rate, switchable to 320Hz at 1080p; supports G-Sync, FreeSync, and 1ms response.
    – Features deep blacks, vibrant colors with 98% DCI-P3 coverage, and DisplayHDR 1400 certification.
    – Connectivity includes USB-C with 90W Power Delivery; releases in US on June 8.

Back in March, TCL unveiled the C2A Pro in China as a 27-inch gaming monitor with a 4K resolution and QD-Mini LED panel.

Specifically, the monitor uses an HFS Shoot panel from TCL CSOT, which combines QLED tech and mini LED backlighting to deliver up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. The monitor has now surfaced on Amazon US ahead of its June 8 release, however, buyers in the US will have to pay a hefty premium, as TCL has listed it for $999.99, more than double its roughly $488 launch price in China.

As previously reported, the TCL C2A Pro is a 27-inch 4K monitor with a native 160Hz refresh rate that can switch to 320Hz at 1080p

Allowing gamers to choose between higher image quality for cinematic RPGs and faster refresh rates for competitive shooter titles. It’s also both G-Sync and FreeSync certified and is rated for a 1 ms response time (fastest). However, its biggest highlight is the mini LED display, which promises OLED-like black levels without the burn-in concerns. With 2,304 local dimming zones, the C2A Pro has more precise control over its backlight, resulting in deeper blacks with less haloing than conventional IPS and VA monitors.

It can also reach up to 2,000 nits in HDR and 1,400 nits in full-screen brightness

So bright highlights and colors stand out more against dark scenes for more impactful HDR. Plus, the QLED filter helps it produce more vibrant colors. As a result, the monitor is certified under DisplayHDR 1400 and covers up to 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. In terms of connectivity, there are two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, two USB-A ports, and a USB-C port with 90W Power Delivery. The monitor is now listed on Amazon with a June 8 release date.

TCL also announced a more affordable C2A variant (non-Pro) with 1,196 local dimming zones and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness

But it has yet to receive a US release. For gamers wanting extreme brightness and HDR performance without the cost of OLED, this monitor specs seem ideal, though the price gap between China and US markets is notable. The 27-inch screen size remains popular for competitive gaming due to its balance between field of view and pixel density.

    • Pricing: $999.99 on Amazon US (vs ~$488 in China)
    • Specs: 27-inch, 4K, 160Hz native (320Hz at 1080p)
    • Panel: QD-Mini LED, 2,304 local dimming zones
    • Brightness: 2,000 nits peak HDR, 1,400 nits full-screen
    • Color: 98% DCI-P3, DisplayHDR 1400 certified
    • Response time: 1 ms (fastest)
    • Ports: 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, 2x USB-A, 1x USB-C (90W PD)
