The end of 2025 is coming up quick, but 8BitDo still has more products to unveil. Recently, they launched the Funtastic Limited Edition versions of the 8BitDo 64. Now, they have quietly started taking pre-orders for the new Transparent Arcade Controller, which just appeared on Amazon a few days back.
New Look for the Arcade Controller
As anticipated, this new controller is a refreshed version of the original Arcade Controller that came out earlier in the spring. Updated for the Xbox Series consoles in July (currently priced at $79.99 on Amazon), the Arcade Controller boasts 16 Kailh linear low-profile mechanical switches and a hot-swappable PCB, no matter which model you choose. All versions come with programmable buttons, including P1, P2, P3, and P4 buttons specifically in the Transparent Purple Signature Edition.
Color and Features
8BitDo has selected Purple Glede switches, which are matched with translucent purple buttons and a see-through purple shell. The Transparent Purple Signature Edition, however, keeps a black tempered glass faceplate and a black transparent 2.4 GHz dongle. Additionally, this new Arcade Controller can still connect to the Nintendo Switch using Bluetooth or a wired connection.
Currently, the Transparent Purple Signature Edition is priced at $94.99, which is $5 more than the original Arcade Controller’s suggested retail price. It’s worth mentioning that both the N Edition and Xbox Editions are available for much less than the MSRP. The Transparent Purple Signature Edition is expected to start shipping from Amazon on January 31, 2026. So far, 8BitDo has not begun selling this new Arcade Controller directly, and the Transparent Purple Signature Edition isn’t available in other markets at this time.
