Apple Ranks Third in China’s Top-Selling TWS Earbuds List

The rankings for the top-selling TWS earphones in mainland China for the first quarter of this year have been unveiled by Canalys, a market research company.

    Xiaomi occupies the first position

The report indicates that Apple is in third place, whereas Xiaomi has secured the top position for the highest number of shipments in Q1 2024, and Huawei takes the second spot.

Xiaomi shipped 3 million TWS earphones in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 76.2% increase. According to the market research firm, Xiaomi’s newly introduced open-ear headphones have significantly bolstered its share in the market. Canalys views these recent product launches as a strategic effort to diversify the product lineup and attract a broader customer base. Xiaomi has reportedly sustained double-digit growth in this category for four consecutive quarters.

The recently launched Redmi Buds 5A features a 12mm dynamic driver, provides up to 25 dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and offers 5 hours of playback, extending to 30 hours with the charging case. The case has a pebble-shaped design and is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. This product is priced at Rs 1,499.

    Huawei and Apple’s Performance

Huawei shipped 2.5 million units in Q1, with the research firm attributing much of this success to its entry-level FreeBuds SE2. The company has also experienced rapid growth over the past four quarters.

Apple secured the third position in mainland China with a total of 2 million shipments in Q1 2024. Edifier placed fourth with a shipment of 1.7 million units during the same period.

    Overall Market Growth

Canalys reports that the total shipment of audio devices in mainland China reached 19.5 million units in the first quarter, reflecting a 21.3% increase compared to the previous year.
