Acer has recently unveiled a fresh range of gaming laptops that feature AI technology. From the well-known Predator series, they’ve introduced two models equipped with some of the most advanced hardware available. These new additions are the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and the Predator Helios Neo 18 AI. Both are powerful machines for gaming, so here’s what you need to know.

Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI

Let’s start with the smaller model, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI. As the title indicates, this laptop has a 16-inch display and comes with four different options. Users can choose between the standard 180Hz or the more fluid 240Hz display, while the highest model features an OLED screen with WQXGA resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color range, Nvidia Advanced Optimus, and a swift 1ms response time.

    Specifications and Features

Beneath its sleek design, the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI is powered by either an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX chip or the Core Ultra 7 255HX. For graphics, it boasts Nvidia’s cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5070 or RTX 5070 Ti. In addition to these impressive specifications, it offers up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and as much as 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. To keep everything cool, it incorporates Gen AeroBlade fans, liquid metal thermal grease, and vector pipes.

This gaming laptop is equipped with a substantial 90Whr battery and weighs approximately 2.7 kilograms. Other significant features include Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6E, a microSD card reader, a 1080p webcam, and it runs on Windows 11.

Acer Predator Helios Neo 18 AI

Many of the specifications between these two models are very similar. Acer has designed these laptops to not only excel in gaming, but also manage AI-driven tasks thanks to the latest Intel processors. Even in the realm of gaming, these models stand strong with the RTX 5000 series GPUs. Thus, you will find the same CPU, RAM, and storage configuration on this model too.

However, the most notable difference is the size. The Predator Helios Neo 18 AI features an 18-inch display with four different options as well. Out of these, three are LED screens, while the top-tier choice is a Mini LED panel. This means you can anticipate an exceptional viewing experience from this model. Additionally, this variant offers a 250Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 3ms response time.

    Pricing and Availability

Acer plans to launch the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI in North America in April, followed by a release in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) in May. There could be a broader release in the latter half of this year, but there’s no official confirmation yet. The starting price for the smaller model is set at 1,899 US Dollars or 1,699 Euros.

Conversely, the Predator Helios Neo 18 AI will begin at 2,199 US Dollars or 1,799 Euros. The North American launch is slated for May, with the EMEA release expected in June. This news comes as Acer also aims to introduce new budget phones in India soon. Just last month, the company revealed the Predator X27U X1, a 26.5-inch 2K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor designed for gamers.
