Philips OLED+ 2025 TVs: 3,700 Nits Brightness & Bowers Sound

Philips is introducing its new OLED+950 and OLED+910 televisions, which are loaded with cutting-edge technology to provide an outstanding viewing and gaming experience. The OLED+950 will be available in 65” and 77” sizes starting in September, while the OLED+910 will be released in June with options of 55”, 65”, and 77”. Both models aim to impress with their high-quality picture, sound, and gaming features.

    Superior Performance

At the core of both models is the 9th Gen P5 AI Dual Engine processor that harnesses artificial intelligence to enhance picture quality. It examines content in real-time, modifying colors, contrast, and sharpness to make everything appear more vivid and realistic. Additionally, the TVs are equipped with META Technology 3 OLED panels that utilize a distinct four-layer RGB structure to enhance color precision and brightness. For instance, the OLED+950 can reach peak brightness levels of 3700 nits, bringing HDR content to life with amazing detail.

    Enhanced Features

A notable characteristic is the enhanced reflection control. The META 3.0 panel prevents over 99% of on-screen reflections, ensuring you can enjoy sharp, clear images even in well-lit environments. Moreover, the new panel design lowers power usage by up to 20%, making these televisions more energy-efficient. For gamers, Philips has incorporated useful upgrades. The revamped Game Bar automatically identifies popular games and applies your saved preferences, eliminating the need for adjustments each time you play. There’s also a minimap zoom option, allowing you to enlarge and move in-game maps, along with an improved color helper mode for better visibility during competitive play.

    Impressive Audio Experience

Sound also stands out as a feature. The OLED+950 includes a 70W 2.1 sound setup, equipped with a dedicated bass driver for robust, impactful audio. On the other hand, the OLED+910 enhances this with a Bowers & Wilkins 3.1 audio system, which includes front-firing speakers and a rear subwoofer to deliver rich, enveloping sound. Both models come with four-sided Ambilight, projecting light around the television to correspond with on-screen action, creating a more immersive viewing experience.

    Stylish Design and User Interface

In terms of design, these TVs are sleek and contemporary, featuring slim black metal bezels and elegant stands. They operate on the latest Google OS, making it simple to stream your favorite shows and applications.

    Pricing and Release Information

The Philips OLED+950 is expected to launch in the second half of 2025, available in 65- and 77-inch sizes. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.

Philips OLED+950 TV Launches with 3,700-Nit Tandem OLED Panel

The new top-tier television from TP Vision features a cutting-edge tandem OLED panel supplied by LG Display, which will also be used in models like the LG G5 OLED and Panasonic Z95B. Unlike LG and Panasonic, TP Vision has shared concrete technical details about its crucial brightness levels. The Philips OLED+950 is reported to reach up to 3,700 nits in HDR mode, while its maximum brightness across the full screen is capped at 350 nits.

    Brightness Comparison

For comparison, the LG OLED G4’s MLA-OLED panel from the upcoming 2024 generation reaches a peak brightness of 1,550 nits, with a full-screen brightness of 224 nits, as noted by Rtings. Nonetheless, it’s important to point out that in everyday scenarios, even this latest OLED television may display lower brightness than what is advertised in promotional materials.

    Color Performance

The new panel is also rumored to excel in color reproduction. TP Vision asserts that the Philips OLED+950 achieves an impressive 99.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and can present 83% of the BT.2020 color space. Additionally, the enhanced anti-reflective coating is designed to significantly reduce any bothersome reflections.

    Energy Efficiency and Gaming Features

Thanks to improved efficiency, the latest tandem OLED panel uses 20% less energy than its predecessor. Furthermore, the new AI processor is expected to enhance contrast and improve HDR performance. Philips has included a gaming mode that can automatically detect the type of games being played and adjust the picture settings accordingly. Users also have the ability to create and save profiles for individual games. The Smart TV even allows for the enlargement of the in-game mini-map, placing it in a different location on the screen. Finally, the Philips OLED+950 smart TV is equipped with a 2.1-channel audio system that delivers 70 watts of power, featuring a subwoofer with four passive radiators for deeper bass.

The Philips OLED+950 is set to be released in the latter half of 2025, with sizes of 65 and 77 inches available. TP Vision has yet to disclose the pricing details. Regrettably, high-end Philips televisions are not sold in North America.
