DJI Mavic 4 Drone and RC Plus 2 Controller Leaked Details

DJI has introduced a number of products this year, including a fresh action camera named the Osmo Action 5 Pro, which is currently priced at $349 on Amazon. Besides that, the company has also refreshed its consumer drone lineup with the Air 3S and Neo models. Nevertheless, the Mavic 3 series continues to be the flagship drone of the company, remaining popular more than three years after it was first launched.

    New Developments in Drone Technology

Recently, various hints of potential new models have emerged online from well-known leakers. It appears that the Mavic 4 was seen alongside the Mavic 3 Pro. According to the information from those leaks, it looks like the Mavic 4 series may come with a round camera housing, marking a change from the existing Mavic 3 series design.

    Insights from Recent Footage

On the other hand, some new footage shared by @OsitaLV, @JasperEllens, and @Quadro_News suggests a different story. The video shows what is believed to be a crashed Mavic 4 Enterprise, highlighting a more rectangular design for the drone’s camera housing that protects three lenses. Sadly, there are no further details available about these cameras, but it’s possible to see several sensors mounted on the top and bottom.

    Stronger Build and New Controller

Interestingly, the upcoming drone seems to have particularly robust arms, which usually would bend in the event of a crash. Additionally, @Quadro_News has revealed the first image of a new RC Plus controller, named the RC Plus 2. There are a few design changes between the two controllers, although the general layout of the RC Plus 2 resembles that of its predecessor. It’s expected that the RC Plus 2 will be released alongside either the Mavic 4 or Mavic 4 Enterprise, which might also come equipped with bigger batteries compared to the older models. As things stand, it appears that DJI might delay the launch of either drone and their accessories until early 2025.

DJI Neo Update Boosts Speed, Tracking, and Key Features

DJI has recently launched its smallest drone, but it hasn’t been long since its release, and the company is already replacing the Neo with several new models. To give you some context, DJI released the Osmo Action 5 Pro (currently priced at $349 on Amazon) before bringing out the Air 3S and Goggles N3 just this past week.

    Goggles N3 and Software Update

The introduction of the Goggles N3 plays a crucial role in the Neo’s latest software upgrade, which DJI is now making available worldwide. This new update is identified by the build number v01.00.0400 and comes with a series of enhancements for Neo accessories. Notably, v01.00.0400 adds compatibility for the Goggles N3, which presents a more advanced FPV headset option compared to the older Goggles 3.

    Enhancements and Features

DJI has also rolled out live view stabilization for both headsets when they are connected to the Neo. Additionally, v01.00.0400 is expected to improve positioning performance during flights and includes support for vertical shooting. Moreover, DJI’s Mobile App Control now allows for full manual controls when live streaming in full-screen mode.

    Performance Improvements

Moreover, v01.00.0400 aims to enhance the Neo’s flight speed while tracking a subject, although the exact increase and new maximum speed remain unclear. At long last, users can also record audio with either the DJI RC-N3 or DJI RC-N2 remote controllers. Finally, DJI has added a noise reduction feature that it claims will maintain the surrounding sounds. For further details, check out DJI’s forum announcement.

  • DJI Air 3S Leaked Photos Reveal New Drone Launch Date and Price Drop

DJI Air 3S Leaked Photos Reveal New Drone Launch Date and Price Drop

DJI has launched a couple of new products during the summer. They brought out the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Neo (currently priced at $199 on Amazon) soon after competitors like GoPro and HOVERAir made their own announcements. However, it appears DJI still has more drones to release this year.

    Upcoming Drone Release

New leaks indicate that the company is preparing to introduce the Air 3S, a successor to both the Air 2S and Air 3. As previously rumored, the Air 3S will reportedly come with a variety of Fly More Combo accessory packs. It seems that DJI will include not only the new RC-N3 remote controller that was introduced with the Neo but also the RC 2, which can already be set up with several other DJI drones like the Mini 4 Pro.

    Pricing and Specifications

According to reports, the launch price for the Air 3S Fly More Combo with an RC 2 remote controller is set at €1,359 (around $1,492). If this is true, it would be €30 (approximately $33) cheaper than the current Air 3. In addition, various insiders have released numerous official device photos, many of which you can see below. While the complete camera specs are still unknown, these images hint at an f/2.4 aperture for the drone’s bottom camera. The last image suggests that the launch date might be October 15, but this has not been confirmed yet.
