    iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ Launches in China with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

    iQOO has launched new gadgets in China today. The Vivo sub-brand introduced a new smartphone, TWS earphones, a smartwatch, and more. The latest phone is the iQOO Neo 9s Pro+, the fourth model in the Neo 9 lineup which already includes standard, pro, and 9s Pro versions. This device is the premium option in the series, featuring a flagship Snapdragon processor while maintaining similar specifications and design as its predecessors.

    iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ Specifications and Features

    The iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ retains the same design as other models in the Neo 9 series. It has a flat frame with dual camera rings on the rear panel. The smartphone boasts a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 1,400 nits peak brightness, and a 144Hz LTPO refresh rate. It also includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen.

    The dual rear camera setup on the iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ consists of a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera. The rear camera can record up to 8K videos and supports slow-motion recording up to 1080p.

    Hardware and Performance

    Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It also includes the iQOO Q1 chipset for an enhanced gaming experience. The device offers up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. To manage heat, it features a 6K VC cooling system. The smartphone is fueled by a 5,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. On the software front, it runs OriginOS 4 based on Android 14 and comes with AI features such as a meeting record assistant, copywriting, screen recognition, and more.

    The iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ is available in Buff Blue, Star White, and Fighting Black colors. Pricing starts at CNY 2,999 ($412) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at CNY 3,399 ($467). The 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB versions are available for CNY 3,299 ($454) and CNY 3,699 ($509) respectively. The highest configuration, which includes 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, is priced at CNY 4,099 (~$564).

    Vivo launched the X100 Ultra last year, and the phone has already received six system updates. The latest update, OriginOS 4 PD2366I_A_14.0.10.2.W10.V000L1, is 245MB in size and includes a variety of camera enhancements, a new camera feature, battery life improvements, and more.

    Camera Updates

    The update introduces a new camera feature that allows the phone to connect with certain mixed reality (MR) devices, providing a more immersive photography experience. Specific improvements in the camera performance include:

    • Enhanced stabilization for 4K60fps video recording, resulting in more stable and smoother camera movements.
    • Better camera stability in high-temperature environments.
    • Smoother zooming capabilities for an overall improved camera experience.
    • Night mode enhancements for clearer images.
    • Improved performance of third-party camera apps in managing exposure and producing clearer images.

    Battery and Bluetooth Enhancements

    Battery life has also been improved with reduced standby power consumption in certain scenarios. Additionally, Bluetooth standby power consumption has been optimized for better battery life.

    System Optimizations

    The update also includes optimized display effects, although it does not specify which MR devices are compatible with the phone for connectivity. Notably, vivo is developing an MR prototype, which Hu Baishan, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the brand, mentioned will be released on the company's 30th anniversary next year.

    Vivo X100 Ultra Specifications

    The vivo X100 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and features a 1/0.98″ main sensor with gimbal stabilization, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom, and an additional 50MP ultrawide lens. It comes with a 5500 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. The phone is exclusively available in its home country for 6499 Yuan (~$914).
