Casio has introduced three new G-Shock DW-5600 watches featuring an adaptable cross band and a magnetic buckle. The new series was initially revealed in a leak from late February, showcasing its design and main features. Now, Casio has officially unveiled the new timepieces.

    New Cloth Band Series

The models, DW-5600MNC-1, DW-5600MNC-7A8, and DW-5600MNC-8A2, belong to what Casio calls the “New Cloth Band” line. These watches move away from the typical resin band, offering a highly flexible and comfy cross band along with a stylish magnetic buckle crafted by FIDLOCK, which the company states “greatly enhances the ease of putting on and taking off.”

    Unique Design Features

The special buckle combines magnets with a mechanical locking system, allowing you to effortlessly open or close the strap using just one hand. Each model comes with its own distinct style. The DW-5600MNC-1 showcases a sleek all-black look and is the only one with an inverted LCD. In contrast, the DW-5600MNC-7A2 features a vibrant multi-color design with light gray details and a neon yellow and gray band. Lastly, the DW-5600MNC-8A2 has a sporty vibe, pairing a gray bezel with a navy-orange strap.

    Specifications and Pricing

Aside from their different color variations, the three watches are practically identical, each weighing 53g and measuring 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm. The case and bezel are constructed from biomass resin, while the dial is safeguarded by inorganic glass. And just to clarify, yes, all three models provide shock resistance and can withstand water pressure up to 200 meters.

Battery life is estimated at five years—there’s no solar charging feature included. Other notable features comprise a 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multi-alarm, hourly time signal, LED backlight with Super Illuminator, a full auto calendar, and an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. The battery life is claimed to last around five years.

As is common with most Casio launches, the G-Shock DW-5600MNC series will first be available in Japan. Priced at ¥19,800 (about $127), it is firmly in the budget-friendly range. Preorders are currently available, with sales expected to start later in March. The trio will likely reach the US, Europe, and other Asian regions shortly thereafter.
