Motorola Launches Moto G05 in India: Affordable Features Unveiled

Motorola has introduced the Moto G05 in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific last month. Now, it’s making its way to India. While the Moto G05 is budget-friendly, it comes with several impressive and handy features.

    Design and Build Quality

The Moto G05 stands out in its category with a (kind of) upscale design. The back has a vegan leather texture, giving it a luxurious touch. It is available in two colors: Palm Red and Forest Green. Additionally, it features an IP52 water-repellent coating, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.

    Pricing and Launch Details

The Moto G05 is offered only in a 4GB + 64GB variant. It will go on sale in India starting January 13 at 12 PM IST through Flipkart and the Motorola website. With a price tag of just Rs. 6,999, the Moto G05 provides excellent value for the cost.

    Camera and Software Features

The smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Although the hardware is typical for this price range, Motorola has added some unique software enhancements. The AI-driven portrait mode provides remarkable edge detection and creates a professional background blur. Moreover, the front camera automatically enters “group mode” when the device is turned sideways, simplifying group selfies.

Underneath, the Moto G05 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme SoC, which is a significant upgrade from the Unisoc T606 in the Moto G04. The device features a 6.67-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, slightly bigger than the 6.56-inch display of its predecessor.

    Display and Battery Life

The display can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making it one of the brightest LCDs in its segment. It includes Motorola’s “Display Color Boost” feature, which enhances dark areas and enriches colors for better outdoor visibility.

The Moto G05 has a battery size of 5,200mAh, which is an increase from the 5,000mAh of the Moto G04. This model supports 18W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. It comes with Android 15 installed, along with Motorola’s Hello UI, ensuring a fresh and intuitive experience right from the start. If you are a current Motorola user, you can find the complete list of devices that will be updated to Android 15.

The dimensions of the phone are 165.67 x 75.98 x 8.10mm, and it weighs 188.8g. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming uncommon for devices in 2025. However, it does not support 5G, which might be a downside for some users, providing only dual 4G LTE connectivity. Regardless, at this price, the Moto G05 presents a well-rounded offering with a premium feel, practical features, and solid performance.

Motorola Launches Affordable Moto G05 Smartphone in India

Motorola has introduced its latest budget smartphone, the Moto G05, in India. This device is the direct replacement for the economical Moto G04, which is currently priced at $121 on Amazon. The Moto G05 brings notable upgrades, featuring a MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor, along with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Users can expand the storage further up to 1 TB using a microSD card.

    Camera and Display Features

The Moto G05 is equipped with a 50 MP main camera on the rear, which comes with an ambient light sensor—a big improvement over the Moto G04’s 16 MP camera. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8 MP camera on the front. Furthermore, the device showcases a 6.67-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels and supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, reaching a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

    Battery and Additional Features

In the Moto G05, Motorola has included a 5,200 mAh battery, increased from the previous 5,000 mAh, which allows for 18 W wired charging. However, only a 10 W charger is included in the box, meaning users need to buy a faster charger separately. The phone is also rated IP52 for water and dust resistance. Additional features consist of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, up to 12 GB of RAM expansion capability, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Hi-Res audio support.

The Moto G05 comes in two color choices: Plum Red and Forest Green. It is priced at INR 6,999 (approximately $82/€78) for the single 4 GB + 64 GB variant. The smartphone will be available on Motorola’s official website, Flipkart, and other authorized retailers starting January 13.

    Moto E15 and G05: Budget Phones with 90Hz Display & 50MP Camera

Motorola has introduced two new budget-friendly smartphones, the Moto E15 and Moto G05, both designed to provide key features without hefty price tags. These devices focus on performance, battery longevity, and an easy-to-use interface, catering to consumers who are mindful of their spending in developing regions. This announcement is made alongside the new Moto G15 and G15 Power models.

Comparison of the Moto E15 and Moto G05

The Moto G05 is marketed as a slightly higher-end choice, featuring 4GB of RAM and storage capacities of 64GB or 128GB, which can be expanded up to 1TB. On the other hand, the Moto E15 has a more basic setup with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Additionally, the G05 operates on the latest Android 15, while the E15 runs on Android 14 (Go edition), which is tailored for lightweight applications and enhanced performance on lower-spec devices.

    Display and Performance

Both smartphones boast a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and brightness levels reaching up to 1000 nits, ensuring a fluid viewing experience even in well-lit environments. They are powered by the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor, which provides sufficient performance for daily activities.

    Camera and Sound Quality

The camera features distinguish the two models. The Moto G05 is equipped with a 50MP rear camera for clearer images, while the Moto E15 has a 32MP rear sensor. Both phones sport an 8MP front camera for selfies and video chats. Motorola has also included stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support in both devices, offering better audio quality—a rare feature for budget smartphones.

  • Budget Moto G05 and G15 Renders Show Premium Design Features

Budget Moto G05 and G15 Renders Show Premium Design Features

Motorola is preparing to enhance its entry-level G-series range with the introduction of two new smartphones, the Moto G05 and Moto G15. Set for release either later this month or early next month, these devices are designed to provide a solid upgrade compared to their earlier models while staying within an affordable price range. Importantly, the Moto G15 and G05 will be the first Motorola smartphones to come with Android 15, Google’s newest operating system, right from the start.

Design Enhancements of G05 and G15

The design of the G15 and G05 closely mirrors that of Motorola’s latest devices like the Moto G75, Edge 50 Neo, and ThinkPhone 25, showing a significant upgrade from the Moto G14 and G04. The rear panel also seems to have a leather-like texture, which contributes to a more premium appearance.

    Camera Features and Variants

Both smartphones are equipped with a 50MP main camera along with a secondary sensor, aiming to offer good photography options for budget-minded users. In addition, the devices come with a punch-hole camera positioned on the front and a fingerprint scanner on the right side. The Moto G15 will be available in Grey and Green colors, with two RAM options—4GB and 8GB—and up to 256GB of storage. On the other hand, the Moto G05 will be offered in Orange, Grey, and Green hues, along with storage choices of 128GB and 256GB. Although an 8GB RAM version for the Moto G05 hasn’t been officially confirmed, it seems likely since the previous model, the Moto G04, provided this option as well.

    Performance Expectations

Recently, the Moto G15 was seen on Geekbench, achieving scores of 340 in single-core and 1311 in multi-core tests. These results might seem lower compared to the Moto G14, which scored 447 and 1577 points, but the variance could be due to different Geekbench versions being used. The Geekbench listing for the Moto G15 indicated a processor featuring a (6+2) core setup and a base clock speed of 1.7GHz, along with 4GB of RAM.

To give some context, the Moto G14 and Moto G04 are powered by the Unisoc T616 and Unisoc T606 processors, respectively. Both models are equipped with a reliable 5000mAh battery. The G14 boasts a 6.5″ FHD+ display, while the more budget-friendly G04 features a slightly larger (6.56″) HD+ (720p) screen.

    Competitive Pricing

Pricing is expected to stay competitive, with the Moto G04 currently listed on Flipkart for just ₹7,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version.

  • New Motorola Moto G05 and G15 Smartphones with 50 MP Cameras

New Motorola Moto G05 and G15 Smartphones with 50 MP Cameras

Motorola has launched many Moto G series phones this year, such as the Moto G 5G 2024, which is only available in North America. Yet, it appears that the brand still has more Moto G models in store for 2024.

    Upcoming Models

As frequently happens with new Motorola devices, someone has gotten their hands on what looks like official press materials before the official release. This time, Ytechb has shared pictures of the Moto G05 and Moto G15, which are expected to be officially unveiled later this month or possibly in early December.

    Design Similarities

In essence, the two models look very much alike, at least according to the images provided by Ytechb. The Moto G05 and Moto G15 appear to take design cues from the latest Edge 50 series rather than the previous Moto G04 or Moto G14, which is currently priced at $98.91 on Amazon. Notably, Motorola has incorporated a sizable camera housing that smoothly integrates into the back of the devices.

    Display and Specifications

Sadly, the company has also opted for displays that feature somewhat thick bezels. Furthermore, Ytechb states that both models will have up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. While markings on both devices indicate the presence of 50 MP primary cameras, additional hardware specifications are still a mystery at this time.
