    Motorola Launches Moto G15 & G15 Power: Helio G81, 50MP Camera

    Motorola has introduced its new affordable 4G smartphones, the Moto G15 and Moto G15 Power, to the worldwide market. Each device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor, which offers dust and splash resistance rated at IP54, stereo speakers, and support for Dolby Atmos.

    Specifications of Moto G15 and G15 Power

    Both the Moto G15 and G15 Power sport a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD display, featuring a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. They have a 20:9 aspect ratio and come with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The display refresh rate is 60Hz, striking a good balance between performance and battery life.

    The heart of these devices is the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra octa-core processor, which includes two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores that clock in at 1.7GHz. Graphics are managed by the ARM Mali-G52 MP2 GPU.

    Camera and Audio Features

    For photography, the rear-facing camera setup consists of a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, complemented by a 5MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.4) and an LED flash. Selfies and video calls are taken care of by an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

    In terms of design, the Moto G15 measures 165.67 x 75.98 x 8.17mm and weighs in at 190g, while the G15 Power is a bit thicker at 8.8mm and has a heavier weight of 203g. Both models are equipped with side-mounted fingerprint scanners. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC (availability varies by region).

    Battery Life

    The Moto G15 is fitted with a 5200mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging, whereas the G15 Power features a more robust 6000mAh battery while maintaining the same charging speed.

    Availability and Pricing

    The Moto G15 and G15 Power will be launching in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Pricing and specific rollout information will be shared regionally during local launches, as per Motorola.

    After the recent introduction of the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra powered POCO C75 globally, the brand seems to be preparing for a 5G variant of this device for the Indian market. Information from 91mobiles has revealed the name POCO C75 5G on the MIUI ROM website, supporting this information. The website indicates that the Indian model of the device will have the model number 24116PCC1I and will feature HyperOS 1, which is based on Android 14.

    POCO C75 4G Details

    Moreover, 91mobiles has suggested that this device will be a rebranded version of the Redmi A4 5G, based on insights from industry sources. For those who don’t know, the Redmi A4 5G is one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in India, which was launched on November 20, 2024. This essentially suggests that the POCO C75 5G will probably have the same specifications as the Redmi A4 5G.

    Specs and Features

    The Redmi A4 5G features a tall 6.88-inch LCD display with a notable 120Hz refresh rate. The display offers HD+ resolution and comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio, reaching up to 600 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and options for either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There is also the possibility of expanding storage up to 1TB using a microSD card.

    In terms of battery, the device is equipped with a substantial 5160mAh battery alongside 18W wired fast charging. For photography, it has a 50 MP main camera on the rear, complemented by an additional camera. The front camera has a 5 MP resolution. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack with FM Radio support and enables dual-SIM connectivity. At its launch, the Redmi A4 5G was priced starting at Rs 8,499, so it will be intriguing to see the price point for the POCO rebrand.

It is available in three colors: Black, Gold, and Green. The Gold and Green versions have a textured surface, which adds a nice touch. A standout feature is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming increasingly uncommon in today’s smartphones.

    This device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra, which includes Cortex-A75 cores for performance and Cortex-A55 cores for efficiency. It also comes with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. Users can choose between two memory configurations: one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Even though it is an entry-level phone, it impressively supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and adjusts the rate dynamically to save battery.

    In the camera department, the Poco C75 comes with a 50MP main sensor and an additional unspecified secondary sensor. The front camera is 13MP and also benefits from many software features, while the Poco Imaging Engine enhances photo quality and speed for an improved photography experience.

    Pricing and Where to Buy

    The Poco C75 is now listed on Xiaomi’s global website and will be available for purchase shortly. The early bird price for the 6GB + 128GB model is set at $109, while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at $129 for early buyers.
