DJI Mavic 4 Pro Leak: Latest Flagship Drone Details Unveiled

Replacements for the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Pro (currently $1,989.98 on Amazon) have been eagerly anticipated for quite a while. It appears that DJI might finally be on the verge of launching the Mavic 4, potentially alongside the Mavic 4 Pro during a simultaneous event.

    Recent Developments

To summarize, the Mavic 4 Pro recently showed up at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States. In contrast, DJI registered the Mavic 4 with the same regulatory agency a few months prior, showcasing a bigger battery compared to the Pro version.

    Insights on the New Model

Igor Bogdanov has provided a more detailed look at the Mavic 4 Pro, which is shown below. Clearly, DJI’s upcoming premium drone will feature a revamped camera housing. However, the Mavic 4 Pro will still include three cameras, similar to its previous model.

    Future Plans

Although Bogdanov hasn’t disclosed when DJI plans to unveil the Mavic 4 Pro, recent leaks suggest that the Mavic 4 and Mavic 4 Pro could be part of a series of launches that DJI has scheduled for 2025. Additionally, it seems that the Mini 5 and Flip drones might be coming soon, as well as the Osmo Action 6 action camera.

According to some latest news, the DJI Flip might be getting ready for its launch soon. However, it seems like the Flip is just one of the many drones DJI is working on. For example, there are hints that the Mavic 4 and Mavic 4 Pro could be coming out in the next few months as well.

    Mini Series Update

Moreover, there are whispers about a new Mini series drone being developed by DJI. To give some background, the Mini 4 Pro has been around for over two years now, and the more affordable Mini 4K was released just this past spring. Due to this timeline, Jasper Ellens thinks that we won’t see a fifth-generation model just yet.

Instead, he expects the DJI Mini 5 to make its first appearance next summer, which starts on June 21, 2025. Nonetheless, both Ellens and OsitaLV seem to have received the same picture of a Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro prototype. From the single image that’s been shared, it looks like DJI has added two new front-facing obstacle sensing sensors, placed between the cameras on the Mini 4 Pro (currently priced at $999.99 on Amazon).

    Sensor and Motor Enhancements

Reports indicate that these could be LiDAR sensors, possibly similar to those already used in the Air 3S by DJI. Furthermore, Ellens believes that the Mini 5 series will come equipped with ventilated motors that are more powerful compared to those in the Mini 4 Pro. Allegedly, DJI has achieved these improvements while keeping the weight under the official limit of 249 g.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro Leaks: Battery Upgrade and RTK Support Revealed

It appears that DJI is filing for many new devices in the US as the legislative bodies there may soon ban sales. Recently, the company was seen registering the Flip with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US.

    Mavic 4 Pro Spotted

Now, several sources have noted that the Mavic 4 Pro has appeared in the FCC’s public database. For some context, hints of the regular Mavic 4 surfaced at the same regulatory agency just a month after the launch of the DJI Neo, which is currently priced at $199 on Amazon. Interestingly, the Mavic 4 Pro seems to have a slightly smaller battery compared to the Mavic 4, which is expected to be equipped with a 99.5 Wh (14.76V/6,471 mAh) battery.

    Battery Specifications

In contrast, the FCC has disclosed that the Mavic 4 Pro comes with a 95.3 Wh (14.32 V/6,654 mAh) battery. It’s worth mentioning that DJI has developed L3A and L3B models, but the FCC states that these are "electrically identical" and have different names solely for marketing reasons. Sadly, the FCC does not share many other useful details about the Mavic 4 or how it will compare with the Mavic 4 or its earlier version.

    Additional Features and Insights

Nevertheless, @OsitaLV has provided a few details, including that the Mavic 4 will include Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) support for enhanced location accuracy. The leaker also mentions that the Mavic 4 Cine Premium will come with a 2 TB built-in SSD. Additionally, all Mavic 4 models are expected to have a main camera that offers 14 stops of dynamic range and an "advanced dual controller," similar to what DJI includes with the Matric 30 series.

Moreover, @OsitaLV asserts that Mavic 4 drones will be able to display a map alongside a flight-assist live image at the same time. Meanwhile, DJI’s upcoming flagship drone has also been seen in a recent test flight. Although the footage provides very little new information regarding the Mavic 4 series, it indicates that DJI’s next high-end drones are in an advanced development stage.
