    Xiaomi has completely revealed its latest Leica camera flagship in China, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This device, aimed at photography enthusiasts, boasts a significant upgrade in its camera system. The main camera on the back features a 50 MP sensor. It is a 1-inch sensor, but unlike its predecessor, it lacks a variable aperture.

    Camera Features

    The 50 MP main camera is paired with a 50 MP ultrawide lens that has an f/2.2 aperture and a 14 mm focal length. Additionally, there is a 50 MP telephoto lens with an f/1.8 aperture that also supports macro photography. However, the standout feature is the 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, a major enhancement compared to the 50 MP periscope found in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

    This new 200 MP periscope is said to enable the Xiaomi 15 Ultra to capture detailed images at up to 17.2x zoom. The company has also launched a new photography kit that includes buttons for zoom and other camera functionalities, making it easier to take stunning photos.

    Specifications Overview

    Regarding the other specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, they align with flagship standards. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is combined with a “two-way design” cooling system. According to the company, this setup keeps the device about 6.6 degrees Celsius cooler than the iPhone 16 Pro Max during intense RPG gaming sessions at 2K resolution.

    On the front side, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra showcases a 6.73-inch AMOLED display. This LTPO panel offers a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, and a variable refresh rate that can reach up to 120 Hz. It is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, which is a significant improvement over the previous model. The phone supports fast charging at 90 W via wired connection (100 W Anker Prime charger currently priced at $79.99 on Amazon) and at 80 W wirelessly, maintaining consistent charging speeds.

    Additional Features and Pricing

    Other important features of the phone include UFS 4.1 storage, LPDDR5X RAM, USB 3.2 Gen 2 support, an IP68 rating, and Shield Glass 2.0 for protection. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499, which is approximately $895, while the photography kit is priced at CNY 999, roughly $137.
