iQOO 13 Leak: BOE Display, High Durability Unveiled

In the remaining months of this year, iQOO reportedly plans to release three significant phones for the Chinese market. These include the iQOO Neo 9S Pro+, the iQOO Z9 Turbo+, and the iQOO 13. According to reports, these devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Dimensity 9300+, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets, respectively. Tipster Digital Chat Station has been leaking key specifications of the iQOO 13. Today, the leaker shared a few more details about the device.

    iQOO 13 Key Specifications (Rumored)

According to DCS, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered iQOO 13 will feature a BOE X-series LTPO screen that offers a 2K resolution and probably a 144Hz refresh rate. To recall, the iQOO 12 featured a Visionox display. The iQOO 13 will be a large-sized display with a flat design and narrow bezels, promising an impressive visual experience. Additionally, it will come equipped with a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

When it comes to build quality and durability, the iQOO 13 will have a metal middle frame and a glass back. The phone will also meet high specifications for dust and water resistance, making it a reliable choice for various environments. The tipster added that the iQOO 13 will retain some classic design elements, probably from the previous generation.

    Launch and Additional Features

The leaker also stated that China is tentatively planning to launch the iQOO 13 in October of this year. Several reports have said the iQOO 13 Pro will be skipped this year.

Previous reports have revealed that the iQOO 13 will house a 6,000mAh battery, which will support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. However, DCS has now claimed that the iQOO 13 will not support wireless charging, as seen in the screenshot above.

    Camera and Vibration Motor

The iQOO 13 rumors have revealed that it will have a 3x periscope telephoto camera in its rear camera setup. For in-game vibration, the device may come equipped with the AAC ESA1016 vibration motor.

iQOO’s next flagship series may undergo a notable strategic change. Renowned tech insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo has indicated that the development of the iQOO 13 Pro variant seems to have been terminated.

Digital Chat Station mentioned, "The development of the Pro project has been stopped, and the probability of it being dropped is 89.3746%." This translates to a high chance that the iQOO 13 Pro will not launch alongside the regular iQOO 13.

    Enhanced Standard Version

However, there is good news for iQOO enthusiasts. The tipster also shared, "The good news is that some specifications of the standard version have been epically enhanced." This implies that the focus might now be entirely on the iQOO 13, with its features receiving significant upgrades.

This isn’t the first instance of rumors regarding the cancellation of the Pro model in the iQOO 13 series. The same source has mentioned this in previous reports (1, 2), reiterating that the Pro variant may not debut this year. We’ve also explored potential reasons for discontinuing the Pro model in another report, which you can read here.

    Expected Specifications

It remains to be seen how much of a performance boost the standard model will get, but the absence of a Pro variant suggests iQOO is confident that the base model can hold its own against competitors.

Rumors suggest that the device will feature a flat OLED display with 2K resolution. The screen is also expected to include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometrics. Furthermore, the device might offer up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. It could come equipped with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging. There is a possibility that the iQOO 13 will launch in November of this year.
