As shown in the images below, all versions provide a bezel-less design around their IPS screens, similar to the earlier Pocket Micro and Pocket Micro Classic models. The Pocket Vert features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,600 x 1,440 and a pixel density of 615 PPI, but the company has not yet revealed the specific processor that will power the device.

    Dimensions and Comparisons

    The confirmed dimensions of the Pocket Vert are approximately 143 x 86.4 x 20.5 mm, making it shorter, narrower, and thinner compared to the previous Pocket DMG. In comparison, while the Pocket Vert is a little taller, it is narrower than budget-friendly vertical gaming handhelds like the Anbernic RG 40XX V, which has a 4-inch display and is currently priced at $79 on Amazon.

    Battery and Features

    In addition, the Pocket Vert is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, bottom-firing stereo speakers, and a built-in touchpad like the Pocket DMG, replacing traditional joysticks. Sadly, there is still no information regarding the release date. Ayaneo is also remaining tight-lipped about several hardware specifications at this time.

On the upside, it boasts a higher refresh rate of 165 Hz compared to the 144 Hz of the previous version, resulting in more fluid visuals.

    Battery and Charging

    Powering the MagicPad 3 is a 12,450 mAh Si/C battery, which is an improvement over the 10,500 mAh battery used in the prior model (165 W Anker 25K power bank curr. $94.49 on Amazon). Nevertheless, the charging speed remains unchanged. Specifically, this new tablet supports 66 W wired fast charging along with 5 W reverse wired charging.

    Camera and Design

    In terms of photography, the Honor MagicPad 3 comes with two rear cameras, featuring a primary 13 MP sensor and a 2 MP macro lens, while the front side has a 9 MP selfie camera.

    The tablet’s other impressive features include a slim design, measuring just 5.79 mm in thickness, and it weighs only 595 grams. Unfortunately, the picture quality takes a hit as well, appearing less crisp due to the scaling process. While the elevated refresh rate could benefit those playing high-speed shooter games, this situation seems quite niche, prompting the question of how many gamers would actually prefer this setting over the standard 240 Hz.

    Razer’s Display Decision

    In our view, limiting the display options to just one is a step backward for Razer. The previous Mini-LED display, which offered a refresh rate of 300 Hz, was exceptional and facilitated HDR gaming, a feature that’s now absent.
